Yea, George is recording a 2nd Souls of We album then a Dokken album and tour will follow.

I agree that Levin should stick with dokken. Judging by the lightning strikes again album, I really liked Levin and Don can sound good with studio magic. His voice sounds like rubbish from the live recording I've heard lately.

The only real reason I could see lynch joining dokken would be fore the $$$$.

GL has S.O.W. and Lynch Mob right now, He sounds better than ever. Oni sounds great and SOW sounds modern. If I were george, I'd just preform the dokken stuff with a one of his two current bands. Oni can still hold down a groove and the guy from brides of destruction could give the dokken stuff a modern redo. Didn't Stephen Pearcy re-record a bunch of Ratt tunes a few years ago?

Hey guys, I lived in Japan for a couple of years from 2002 - 2004. Hard rock and metal is not huge over there anymore like it used to be. More popular than it is here, but still not what it used to be. Even when I saw Def Leppard in concert in Tokyo on their X tour, they didn't play a huge place. It was a theater sized place. So a Dokken reunion wouldn't be that big of a deal over there. Imagine how sad I was when I saw all the young kids listening to rap and hip hop and walking around with their pants hanging down past their asses. It just looked so ridiculous to me.

While Jon Levin is no guitar god, he does the Dokken type stuff extemely well. His guitar work on the last two cds is perfect 80s Dokken style. And live he does a great job with the classic stuff. Much more consistent than Lynch ever was. Still, I prefer Tooth & Nail, Under Lock & Key, and Back For The Attack to anything they've done since. Nothing touches those classic Lynch riffs and solos. But I'm almost afraid to hear George try to make another Dokken album. Like tonemonster said, he hasn't been great in many years, and Don has lost it.

Jacksonshred... thanks for the compliments, but I think Jon Levin does the Lynch thing better than me! I really can't wait to hear him playing on the new re-recorded greatest hits they have coming out. It also has a few new songs, and one of the snippits I heard sounds really good, even Don's singing.

I doubt that they will sound very good, but I would still love to see them.

Love Dokken but they probably should learn when to hang it up. Don can't sing anymore and the band is living off 80s hits, largely irrelvant new tunes since. All of that said, someone told me their last CD released I think in 2008 was pretty good, very 80s, but good. Any thoughts on that?

To repeat myself... yes, their latest cd is excellent. The tunes and guitar work are kick ass. The production also sounds top notch. Jon Levin rips. Give it a listen.

I half agree. My two favorites are This Fire and Point of No Return.

I just spent the weekend in Cali, I got to hang out with Jon Levin on Sat and Sun. He played me some of the new tracks off the new album at his place on Sun. It really kicks ass. Lightning Strikes Again is a damn good album as well. Don doesnt have the range he use to, but when he is in his zone, he is doing fine.

But let me tell ya. Jon is an amazing guitarist.

There has been a rumor and talks of George rejoining, but only time will tell if it will happen or not. I can tell you that their bands have been touring together. Souls of We and Dokken. Also Lynch Mob with Oni has been seen with Dokken too. George has joined the band on a couple of occasions on stage.

Like the second song more than the first. Probably will pick up the CD. Dying for new music!

Always been a huge Lynch/Dokken fan. The Lightning Strikes Again album is very good...additional highlight tracks on that CD are: Heart To Stone and Oasis. I did not really get into some of their last few releases, but L.S.A. goes back to the bands root sound and what they are best at doing.
I'm another one to say that Tooth & Nail. Under Lock & Key, and Back for the Attack were the best albums they ever made.

Foreigner was on the George Lopez show a couple of nights ago and Pilson was playing bass.I don't know how long he's been with them though.

I've been curious about Lynch also. His early stuff has certainly influenced me.

Wow, I really like these two songs, esp "Standing On the Outside"... gives me chills how it sounds exactly like 80's Dokken

Never heard of Levin before reading this thread, but if I didn't know it was Levin before clicking on the link, would definitely think it's Lynch on guitar... amazing.

Jon Levin was actually Dokken's lawyer before he joined the band.
