Rik decided to take out a back-up player on the SOK tour in 87. He took out Rik Santers from the Canadian band Santers. For me the results were mixed. I thought a 2nd player did provide a fuller sound on several songs like Lay it. But I thought the band was better/tighter on the Thunder 7 tour when they toured as the traditional 3 piece. IMO I think Mike Levine (bass) wasn't aggressive enough of a player to really add something to the mix when Rik was blazing his solos, you really missed the backing on some songs they performed live.

Rik didn't play the white Dean V at the US festival, that was the Never Surrender Tour and he wasn't using it at that point. He did play a red Dean on When the Lights Go Down which you can find on YT. You can buy the white Rik Emmett V that Dean reissued a couple years ago but there were only 100 made and they won't come cheap. I see them on ebay from time to time.

That's right!, Rik didn't play the white Dean V at the US festival.
He played his hollow body Framus Jazz guitar loaded with Dimarzio Super Distortion pickups.
