It's my honest opinion that Uli is quite literally from the future. He may even be a cyborg, sent back in time disguised as a hippie to show people how to really play guitar.

Uli's work with the scorp's is freekin KILLER!!!

See Uli to me is a soul-based player. He 'feels' the music rather than plays it. He has some chops because he loves classical music but he's one of those guitarist that uses his instrument to 'sing' the notes. He's not a speed merchant but can go fast when needed. He's just great, but he's not the be-all, end-all for skill. But he is one of the front runners for playing with feeling and expressing himself through the music.

Well im with you on Lane.. Uli is amazing, but for soul i'll stick to Gary Moore.

            Moore
            Greg Howe!

If effect you are saying that people are not entitled to their opinion in the matter, which is REALLY insane. You think only you get an opinion?

I will respect your opinion that you don't find him to be the best ever if you respect the opinions of those who feel otherwise.

And whoever said EVH invented Uli, it's more like Ed heard Uli, tried and falied to master his technique, and fell back on tapping as the easy way to get that kind of speed. Not that I don't love Ed's playing, but facts are facts and VH was covering "Catch Your Train" by Scorps at keg parties in Pasadena before they ever got signed.

I could listen to Uli and Shawn Lane and be content with never needing to hear another guitar player. Here is Uli...

I love Uli but I don't like his version of Concierto de Aranjuez, he's good at doing Vivaldi and all that baroque stuff but you can't use that feel when playing a Rodrigo composition.

His talent goes way beyond speed or Neoclassical.
Excellent Phrasing with soul, and clean. No slop.

are you off your rocker? Eddie invented Uli. where have you been? I never said anything about who heard who first or who was playing the others songs..... I am talkin about who invented the other. and of course we know who did. Eddie invented hot pockets and fruit roll ups too.

HA! not me Ronnie. That stuff drives me up the wall. Its like a pirate with a steering wheel attached to his belt buckle, It drives me nuts. garballygoop. Just like Steve Vai's sonic nonsense that some people call music. the bad part about Vai is, he CAN be a great guitarist, but mostly just wails out that nonsense garbally goop shit.

If Uli is ever going to be cool, he needs to learn to make those pouty rock star faces and loose the skullet and wasteoid hippie outfit. I have seen homleess bums beggin for change on the street dressed better than that. Notice how much more respect Agassi got when he cut his skullet off that he hid behind the sweatband? Uli could enjoy that same success and get a canon camera endoresement deal and be doing commercials too.
