He's an exceptional rock/metal guitarist who has done session work for artists as diverse as Danger Danger to Chaka Khan, played for Alice Cooper, then Wiinger, then Dokken, and has also played in Night Ranger and Whitesnake. He also had a band called The Mob with Doug Pinnick of Kings X on vocals, Kip Winger on bass, and Kelly Keaggy of Night Ranger on drums and vocals.

His tapping technique has been favorably compared to that of Steve Vai, and is well-respected by players like Vai and Steve Morse.

Meanwhile, Kirk Hamster is a guy who is best known for being Joe Satriani's worst celebrity student and for not writing a decent solo since Master of Puppets. And he didn't write his first decent solo til Ride The Lightning. So you're talking about a mediocre player that happened to hitch a ride on the gravy train.

Gonna tell us about milllions sold? I guess you'd be a Britney and N'Sync fan too if you play that card.

Yeah the first 4 were pretty good but I feel that there was better thrash going on at the time.

I agree, IMO Slayer, Megadeth, Exodus, Overkill and Testament are all better bands. But just because those guys are better and worth my money doesn't mean Metallica's first 4 were shitty, just not the shiny golden beacons the critics says they are...RTL was their best IMO.

I'm not sure he did either. I think he learned the songs in the studio and just James still did all the rhythm tracks himself. I believe Kirk did rhythms on Load and Reload on the opposite speaker from James.

All Kirk usually did was just play solos on the albums. He didn't play any rhythm on album until Bob Rock came into the picture.
