Yeah the first 4 were pretty good but I feel that there was better thrash going on at the time.

My favorite part of that movie is when James is back - after a YEAR in rehab and therapy - but won't work past 4PM! And THEN he says theo OTHER guys can't even LISTEN to the tracks while he is gone!

He says something like "I feel you guys will make decisions without me and I'll walk in and it'll be a done deal".

Then Kirk says "Now you know how I've felt for the last 15 years!" :ROTF:

Kirk grew a pair to speak up ONE TIME, and he was forbidden to play solos on St. Anger as his punishment! "We don't really NEED you, Kirk!"

Yeah, metal up your ass, huh?

I'll bet Kirk read this and was laughing all the way to the bank

Don't give a rat's as about Winger, Metallica, Beach or hammet

Al I do know is that whenever Lars Ulrich starts talking, I sincerely wish for technology
to make it possible to strangle someone through the TV
Ulrich is like the William Shatner of metal, with the difference being: Shatner doesn't take himself so serious

I don't know about this. Black album hit July 1991. I remember getting the cassingle the day it came out and sitting in my car listening to it...tapedecks, baby! I remember thinking, "Not bad" but being underwhelmed.

Smells Like Teen Spirit hit somewhere in late 1991, so it wasn't a big period of time between Metallica & grunge.

In this time I started seeing Metal Up Your Ass t-shirts showing up on non-metalheads in the highschool hallways and thinking, huh?

I think what happened in 1991-92 was a jump to "authenticity", whatever that means- You could suck, as long as you looked like a slob doing it.

Metallica of course did not suck, but they weren't exactly fashion plates- and so the stars aligned- They got more accessible to the wider listening audience just as the trends were shifting, and they fit.

That doesn't mean Winger sucks necessarily- It just means that while Metallica was on the right side of that shift, Winger was on the wrong side.

Touche! To be honest, I have said that I find the keyboards in CoB to be the funniest shit and that a lot of their songs sound the same - i.e. after listening to an album, do you remember any particular song or riff and say, "that was cool!"???

This reminds me a lot of an arguement one of my friends was making about the Bill Bruford stuff he forced me to listen to.

Ok, I was a little harsh on him for his slip up on vibrato. But if one is going to make himself seem so high and mighty.

And yeah, they are still butthurt about that Metallica video. They were actually just on the tube the other day talking about "Metallica threw the first punch" so they don't feel bad about ragging on them. And no, I don't look to Beavis and Butthead to tell me what is metal, but those retards obviously were right about Winger. And obviously they were right enough that Winger is still pissed about this:

The only reason anybody knows who Beach is is because he was first part of the big hair metal trend and now he's come back because of a sudden 80's nostalgia trend.

If he was really so great, he wouldn't need those trends to be known.
Beach is actually a pretty good guitar player

Wow...it took until halfway through page two for somebody to "get" that Reb was being facetious when he called the Hamster's vibrato "vibration"

I like both bands for different reasons, but there is simply no comparison when it comes to their level of musical talent...Metallica can't even begin to measure up to playing talent in Winger. Rod Morgenstein in one of the true elite drummers of our time, and Reb is a world class player on par with the very best of the best.
