Remains my favorite solo ever...UNBELIEVABLE expression and guitar solo perfection in the context of a HUGE complex musical composition. The economy of notes deserves awe in itself.

Very few guitar players could be that restrained when the whole vibe almost dictates something over the top. IMO it will never be equaled.

    Some other favorites of mine:

    Sambora -Runaway
    Meniketti-Meanstreak
    Campbell-Rainbow in the Dark
    Geraldo-Heartbreaker
    Skolnick-The Legacy
Kahler...Killing guitar values DEAD since 1981.

i personally like the 1st two solos in the live version of Body Bag by Obituary, on the world demise album, awesome, have liked these since i was about 17 and just discovering death metal
also, the solo in Refuse/resist is pretty mad, probably not technically difficult, but i dont care

There are so many choices. My favorite lately has been Lucretia, Marty is all over the place. I will say that anything by Testament is awe inspiring. Skolnick is just...well, I can't play like either of them, but I'll listen at full volume. New stuff has to go to Nevermore, unreal talent.

Brad Gillis and Jeff Watson in "You Can Still Rock in America".
            Tony Iommi in "War Pigs."
Joe Satriani in "Always With You Always With Me."

I've always felt that this is one of Jake's tastiest solos.... (Sound quality in video not the greatest.)

And moore Gary, because he could shred with the best of them back in the day... (He never did have command of the fashion end of the business though lol.)

Frank Marino - "Juggernaut" - just a killer solo

Whitesnake - "Is This Love" - Perfect.
