I like what everyone has to say. I'll tell you one thing I never bought a Van Halen, Aerosmith or Motley Crue record but I'll buy any Iron Maiden cd or dvd the freakin' day it comes out. Other than that give me any ZZ Top, Jackyl, Dark Tranquility and Machinehead and I am all set.

      That's quite a mix

True, I recall there being a backlash about SIT and SSOASS because of the guitar synths. Now those albums are rightly seen as classics.
Maiden are, and probably always will be, the best metal band ever.

          All of this IMO ofcourse:

I have as much love for everything Pre-Somewhere/7s-7s but those 2 albums are my introduction to maiden.
Adrian's departure I don't consider a good thing, though NPFTD and FOTD weren't bad.
(Both title tracks rank high in my most beloved Maiden songs)

I tried to like the Blaze Bailey period, but -and I don't consider this a fault of Bailey- those albums were bland and boring.

BNW was as good as it was because it was a disguised rehash of old Maiden,
but most further albums I'm inclined to consider bland and boring again, Bruce's change of voice not helping the matter.

BUT, I still like to see Maiden bring out new albums, perhaps a complete album can't strike me with awe anymore,
I have no doubt they may still surprise me from time to time.

Hells freakin' yeah- or throw in some Sepultura, Morris Day, Steve Jones, Soulfly, Tommy Bolin, Rufus Huff and The Bullet Kings. Oh yeah- Maiden is the best band EVER.
