Opinions on Gus G?

He sounds a lot like Zakk meets Alexi. I'm not a fan of his tone or playing, I think it's very generic and the average run on the mill European "shredder". Nothing in his playing stands out to me as original or exciting, but that's just my opinion.

I was reading the August guitar world with interviews with him and Ozzy. Ozzy mentioned he fired Zakk because he was drinking too much.

How much do you have to drink for Ozzy fucking Osbourne to point his finger at you and call you a drunk?!?

From what I gathered it's because Ozzy is trying to stay sober (did I just say that??? ) and Zakk's drinking apparently doesn't make it so easy for him.

I really like Gus G on his Firewind material. The crap that is on the Ozzy single does nothing for me. I think someone mentioned earlier that the solo sounds like Zakk without the pinch harmonics - good assessment.
The Firewind stuff is more up my alley - kind of 80's metal to my ears. I hope he leaves Ozzy and gets back to Firewind. I can understand trying to get some notoriety by doing the Ozzy gig, but does playing with Ozzy really mean anything anymore???? For me Ozzy only ever had two great guitarists - Randy and Jake!!!

Gus didn't write much of the guitar on scream only the solos, all the rest was written by ozzys studio gimp.

Hey guys new to forum and this is my first post love Jaskson guitars. Anyway couldn't agree with this more Ozzys getting too old. Zacks probably to loud for him. As for Gus I love his stuff on Firewind, one of the best out there IMO but when I heard Scream on the radio I decided I wasn't going to buy the album. Gus go back to Firewind, Zakk stay with BLS and Ozzy retire.

Ozzy was playing on the radio last week while we were on the way to the mall. I looked up and the car in front of us had a license plate with BLS 357. I started to chuckle and my wife asked me what was funny. I had to go into a 10 minute explaination on why I laughed when I saw the plate.

I really don't care about Zakk or BLS at all. It's just not my thing at all. I am probably alone on this one but, I think that the only thing he ever did that was worth a shit was Book of Shadows.
