  • Megadeth - That One Night DVD

I was watching it again last night. Anyone know which Seymour Duncans Glen Drover (the guy playing the trans black ESP) was using? I was gonna ask which Duncans Dave was using, but I assumed they'll be custom made ones no-one else can buy.

I tried looking up Livewires, but they don't have pole pieces. The ones he and Glen used at that gig, had pole pieces and SD logos, no DM signatures.

I saw an ad in a Guitar World mag I have from a couple years ago (I think) for Glen Drover. He was using the Duncan SH-6.

Well Dave used the normal JB for years so it could well have been one of those.

Agree. Even his sig Livewires have the exact same specs as a JB, just as an active.

Found this in three seconds on SD's website: http://www.seymourduncan.com/artists...ed_artists/105

The LiveWires are newer than that concert IIRC. Therefore, it's a regular JB.
                I like EL34s.

Correct. Before Dave switched to the Mustaine sig Duncans, he was using common JB/Jazz combo in his guitars. The ESP/LTD version of that guitar mirrored the change as well. Early models had the JB/Jazz combo, and the newest ones (issued before he left for Dean... BLEH. Sorry. Had to be said haha) were built with the Duncan Mustaine sigs.

I'm not sure what Glenn used, BUT I know Dave is anal about making his "hired guns" use the same equipment as him, so I wouldn't be surprised if it was the JB/Jazz combo. I remember an interview with Dave not too long ago where he discussed the reasoning behind the "cloned" configs. He said something about having different rigs/setups caused a clusterfuck of EQ problems, and that it sounded much tighter when both guitarists sounded as much alike as possible. He's got a point I guess, but yeah... I'd bet it was the same config as Dave. Just my $0.02
