they're only 25 years late with this one, and no Michael Anthony to boot.
I've been officially off the Van halen train since Dave was out. i don't know about this one guys...............

This won't be the Van Halen of 1978-1984. My prediction is much suckage. But I gave the new Ratt a chance (not terrible) and I'm always willing to listen at least once. Not having MA in the band will be a bit of a bummer. I'm just praying they don't stick wolfgang on lead autotuned vocals for a song to draw in the young girls. (Yeah he's a fatty, but he's a RICH fatty.)

Maybe they can get Ted Templeman back as producer, too--lol.

The egos will probably make it fall apart before recording is finished.

I sure as hell don't want that to happen. I wish them all the success possible - really! Heck, I've sure been hoping / wanting this since my youth. And I'd wish them even more success if it were the full original lineup with Mike's bass and very essential vocals going, too.

Nonetheless, my expectations are low that this will actually get done. Especially since - just a few months ago - Eddie was essentially saying "why bother recording anything new" in a mag interview. Which makes me wonder that - even if they finish the record all the way through - it might suck from a lack of effort or commitment.

Crossing my fingers, but not holding my breath.

I thought they wouldn't get a record deal if the original line up wasn't back together. Micheal Anthony was a big part of this band with backing vocals and stage presents... Just have to watch "Live without a net" Video to see that.

eh. it is exceptionally lame that wolfgang is the bassist. that kinda makes van halen like the partridge family in my mind. michael anthony was more of VH than eddie wants to admit.

oh well. all one can do is wait and see.
                  GEAR:

some guitars...WITH STRINGS!!!! most of them have those sticks like on guitar hero....AWESOME!!!!

some amps...they have some glowing bottle like things in them...i think my amps do that modelling thing....COOL, huh?!?!?!

                  and finally....

i have those little plastic "chips" used to hit the strings...WHOA!!!!

Re: the 2nd pic (which I couldn't get to paste in here):

Are those the bobblehead dolls, or the actual band?

Saw the reunion tour in 07' and wolfgang isn't as bad a bassist as many people think he is. My problem with him is he can't sing worth a darn. I'll miss the MA falsetto.

On Colbert Report last night, he mentioned the new record and said, "As old as these guys are, Hot For Teacher is now creepy from the other side."

Insert "facepalm". I dont think Don has any pipes left to sing.
