Just got the CD yesterday and I like it quite a bit. I can't stop listening to Coming Home, probably could be a single on rock radio. It's a little different for Maiden, almost like a power ballad, but it works really well. The solos are amazing.

I didn't like El Dorado or the video for Final Frontier. I won't be buying the CD because of that, and because Bruce never misses a chance to slag the USA.

I used to see Janick Gers in the clubs (Working Men's Clubs that is. CIU affiliated) in Yorkshire with White Spirit back in '81 and '82 and he was essentially a good Ritchie Blackmoor sound alike and could carry the flag when they played Pink Floyd covers and the like.

Yeah, standard cover band fodder, like most of us do.

I see he's kept the "stick you leg out sideways" stage move, but has lost the "thrash the guitar with the cable" schick ;-)

        Luckiest man in rock? Maybe

Not sure if I'll jump on this right away. Probably let it stew for a while until I'm whipped up into a Maiden frenzy and then buy it.

Edit: I lied. I'm downloading it now.

In Cleveland last month he was still thrashing the Strat with the cable and definetly had the leg up sideways. Some things never change For as much crap as he catches, I've seen him 4 times with Maiden and thought he played quite well each and every time.

I like Janick's playing. It sounds so saucey.

Overall I'm not blown away at all by The Final Frontier. I didn't really expect to be. The vocal lines are all really similar. Its like the same tune over and over again. And not just on this album - all of the post-reunion albums have all had the same vocal melody thing going on.
