  • Seeing Gojira tonite at Gramercy NYC

My friend got tix. I have listened to them, but not too much, mostly cos I'm slow and out of touch! Looking forward to the show! Anyone else going?

Great band live!!! Put on a killer show and there should be some Jacksons on display.

Cool! That place is a little shithole, but it's great to see a show since it's so small and you can see great even up in the seats. I saw Exodus and Malevolent Creation there a couple weeks ago.

I guess we got 2 for it, 1 against!

I saw them last year open for Metallica and really dug them. I'll bet in the smaller venue, they'll really kick ass.

Did he mean ''blow'' in a fellatio related manner or as in launching a missile and blowing a hole in the ground? And does he consider missiles blowing holes in the ground a good thing, a mediocre thing or a bad thing?

Blowing holes in the crowd. Bomb craters dont just pop up. Something has to blow up first.

                  This is a good thing.

Heh, I got major egg on my face. it wasn't Gojira but KATATONIA that played tonite....I guess I haven't been getting much sleep! Anyhoo, they were good. They could've played faster songs from their repertoire, and the guitars could've been louder in the mix, but a good show nonetheless and it gets me outta the house!

Did you catch Gwynbleidd? One of my favorite bands, played with them a few times.

Yeah, we caught the last few songs of them. They must've been on 1st, which is too bad, cos they were better than the other support acts.

Yeah, they were the local opener. More people need to know about them.

Funny, I saw Gwynbleidd when they opened for Entombed and was not impressed in the least. They are all right musically, but they don't have much stage presence. And that's being nice about how boring they were. Maybe it was an off night?

I was going to go to this show, but I decided to save for Nuclear Assault in October instead. How was Swallow the Sun? They were good when I saw them with Finntroll. I was at the Exodus show too. I've seen many bands there, it's the default venue for NYC it seems, bigger bands like Kreator and Overkill go to the Nokia. Exodus played Nokia when they where support for Arch Enemy, unless they just wanted to do a smaller show for nostalgic reasons.
