  • Any Love For Swedish/Finish New Wave of Hair/Glam/Sleaze Metal ?

Warning: If you're a "it doesn't have death metal screamo vocals" kind of fan, just skip this thread, we don't need your comments. This is good old fashioned 80's fun metal.

Sweden and to some extent Finland is the new 80's LA. There are some bands there that are putting out some seriously great hair/glam metal. Over there, it is now called Sleaze Metal.

A little primer and some examples:

Crashdiet has been one of the biggest "Sleaze" bands over there for a number of years. Long story short, they have had a problem with lead singers(death/borrowed from other bands, etc). Here is a good example of Crashdiet, a song called In The Raw. If you didn't know better, you might sware this was Motely Crue in the mid 80's. Nope, it's late 2007:

Crashdiet's latest musicvideo for single "In the raw"

This was Crashdiet's 2nd CD, borrowing a the singer from a band called Reckless Love. People thought he was crazy for leaving Crashdiet to go back to his original band but now we have 2 good bands making some good music.

Here's the new Crashdiet with their new singer, a new song called Generation Wild. Very strange video but good song:

And here is Crashdiet's singer from the first video with his band called Reckless Love. This is a song called Bad Ass from their current CD(which is their first):

This is more traditional metal, but hey, it's from Sweden I think.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
        I like EL34s.

I like that. I was just thinking it sounded a lot like Crashdiet and you start reading the comments, partially writting by Crashdiet's guitarist Martin Sweet.

Yep, I'm with ya on Crashdiet and Gemini Five. I've been listening to them for a while now. Would be cool to see them tour the US.

that sounds a LOT like Dangerous Toys

and the recording sounds good to me, aka, not modern "studio magic"

i listen to everything from la guns to emperor, and that is pretty horrible.
but if it floats your boat, then that's all that matters.
