    Oh who cares, really?
Both camps have provided us some killer tunes and good concert performances.

This song by Dio kicks and anyone who begs to differ is just plain stupid.
The studio version is much better but you get the idea, its brilliant.
The studio version is on the right and once there you can click it and enjoy it as well.
But the link below is the live version

Ozzy, and again anybody who begs to differ is just plain stupid.

All of you are entitled an opinion but you ought to be ashamed of yourselves.
    Why bother, really?
Especially when you know both camps have made some legit contributions.
Peace, Love and Happieness and all that stuff...

"Anyone who tries to fling crap my way better have a really good crap flinger."

I personally do not care how it was built as long as it is a good playing/sounding instrument.

Yes, there's a bee in the pudding.

I is a great song; though, it's a Black Sabbath song from the Dehumanizer album and not really Dio solo stuff.

So I guess we can conclusively state that in the battle of who's better between Ozzy and Dio the answer is... Tony Iommi!

When Dio was in Sabbath Iommi wrote for Dio, musically to fit Dio's voice.
"I" wouldn't ever been written with Ozzy at the microphone, it just wouldn't fit/work.
Only Dio's pipes pulled that tune off.

Can you imagine Ozzy singing a Mary Poppin's tune? It just wouldn't fit.
Can you imagine Dio singing when you wish upon a star? It just wouldn't fit.
Put Ozzy the frontman for Rush, it just wouldn't work.
Put Dio the frontman for Third Eye Blind, it just wouldn't fit.

So YES it is mostly and mainly the guitarist/writers ability to hear a song that would fit the vocals of the singer. The talent and experience of the guitarist to hear and write around the vocalist.
Iommi knew how to get it done.
Rhoads knew how to get it done.
Jake knew how to get it done.
Zak knew how to get it done.

Wherever Ozzy went or still goes it's the guitarist that makes Ozzy look good vocally.
Ozzy couldn't sing himself out of a wet paper bag.
Singing wise he's alittle better then Willie Nelson and thats not saying much.

Dio is a better singer but the songs Ozzy had with Black Sabbath were much better imo. Black Sabbath(album) is far better, song wise, than Heaven and Hell.
I don't like Ozzy or Dio's solo careers so I can't judge them on that. But the Ozzy days in Black Sabbath were better than Dio's.

Oh, and yes. Me stating my opinion three times was necessary.

Love 'em both and saw both of them multiple times live. Won't argue anything except one thing. And that is one word RHOADS

Hey, if Gene Simmons could do it and get away with it ... why not RJD?

In the end, I believe in the old adage, "You only have to be as good as the music you play." I think the question is silly and purposely obtuse. They were/are both great for the music they made. I love 'em both.

I agree.. I was just watching a bunch of the Diary tour shows on youtube with Gillis playing the Ozzy material... I remember people always telling me he sucked at the RR material which I disagreed with then & still do now. IMO Gillis did it as well as or better than anyone who came after RR including that fake biker guy who plays 14,000,000 pinch harmonics in every single song.

I loved both bands growing up but always felt closer to Ozzy. I pretty much lost interest in anything Dio did after Vivian Campbell except with Sabbath (Heaven & Hell & Mob Rules are somewhere on my top 50 list) Where as post RR Ozzy with Jake or really even through No More Tears still got me excited. I thought the Dio songwriting post Viv was weak with rare exceptions & the whole "circle & the rainbow & the dragon & the rings" spiel was quite played out after The Last In Line... but obviously He was an amazing vocalist & great performer.

I know! The idea is as crazy as suggesting he should sing silly love songs for a Roger Glover project as the voice of an animated frog! Ludicrous!

I loved Dio and Ozzy both in Sabbath, and i pretty much think Mob Rules is my favorite Sabbath album - but the best singer in Black Sabbath to me was Ian Gillan, and i'm not just saying that to make controversy.
Born Again was fucking excellent and would have loved he stayed in the band, he brought it to another level of heavy and evil sounding.

Dio over Ozzy every single time. Ozzy whines, Dio sings.

Im have to agree here. Ozzy (IMO) hasen't done anything worth listening to since Rhoads was killed.

I like them both equally. Dio is a better vocalist with more range and dynamics (clean to mean) than Ozzy.

Randy Rhoads trumps any other guitarist who has played in either of the two bands....
