I guess I'm in the minority when I say there's not a whole lot from Van Halen or Hagar that I don't like. All just seems like good tunes to drink beer and shoot pool or throw darts to.. And don't let the hair fool you - no housewife here..

Could be true.....grew up in NJ and have owned 1 camaro (2 if you count my wife's 2010) 3 Trans Ams (Still have the 1979 although it's parked in my PA driveway now) and 2 Corvettes. Lots of those 5.0 Mustangs and IROC Camaros in NJ! LOL

Oh yeah and on topic. Vocally Sammy >>>>>> Dave. Fitting VH: Dave>>>>>>>Sammy.
Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!

While some great songs were produced during the DLR years, I have to say I think the Hagar era songs were better written and produced.

either way, I'm not getting my hopes up. It's probably gonna be another VH3 followed by a lot of bullshit flying around...

What I don't like about the Van Hagar years is the abundance of corny ballads (especially lyrical-wise)

            -"You like Anime"

Nothing against Hagar...I'm sure he's a great guy, but I don't and won't listen to post-DLR VH. Ever.

THe Roth or hagar thing will be debated forever just like Ford vs Chevy. as long as there are 2 VH fans on this earth, that war will rage on forever a

I prefer Hagar as I just think he is a far more talented musician as a whole than Roth could ever dream of being. so dave was an energetic starge performer and a good singer back in the day. fine. thats cool. but he cant play guitar, write songs, or sing like sammy can. Sammy is kick ass. I saw them live on the 04 tour and Sammy was frickin awesome. he never stopped moving for almost 2 hours, and his singing was near perfect. damn great show. he and Mike saved the show as Eddie played like total garbage. Eddie is a feeble shadow of what he was and what he could be. he needs to forget all thos business bullshit of building guitars and amps and shit, and just play guitar and write GOOD music. but I dont think he can anymore. he lost his mojo. and not including Mike Anthony is a huge mistake. ANthony's backup vocals are paramount to VH sound. as much as I dont like to say this......trust me......Eddie will somehow fuck this up.

There's no debate. There's Van Halen and then there's a decent candy ass pop-rock band with great guitar solos.
