Paul Gilbert - United States

I finally picked up this CD last week. It came out a couple of years ago. It's not instrumental like his other recent releases. He co-wrote it with Freddie Nelson who also handles the lead vocals. I have to say that I really like it. The songs are catchy as hell, the guitar solos rip of course, and Freddie is a great singer. It reminds me of some of the stuff on Burning Organ, one of my favorite Paul Gilbert cds. Anyone else have this?

United States is actually one of my favorite PG albums. Great guitar playing obviously, but also some very catchy tunes. Too bad nobody knows about it. Freddie Nelson is a killer singer. This album deserved way more attention!

Track 1 "The Last Rock and Roll Star" is a real rocker! And my kids love "Girl From Omaha", lol.

Glad to see that there are a few more out there that have heard this. I agree that it deserved more attention. It seemed to come out of nowhere and kind of get lost between Paul's instrumental releases. I'd love those two to do another cd, but I have a feeling sales weren't very good. It's a shame, because it really is great.

I've listened to it a few times but found it pretty boring to be honest.
