The album wouldn't be all that bad... if there were no vocals at all. It's got a little bit of a Sunn O))) vibe to it.

I mean come on guys... this is the same band that released the best cover album of all time...
The black album? But it sounded nothing like Spinal Tap...

Really? I thought they stuck it out like professionals. Now they were pulling faces behind Lou's back (y'know, because of the immense respect they have for him) like a bunch of punkass jackoffs?

I read a little about this album and apparently James WAS crying when making this, because of some lyric Lou was "singing". Kirk went in and came out crying too.

I think at that point they should have realised - if even the band were crying listening to it, how the fuck would the rest of us feel when we heard the pile of shite?

                            First impressions: - it's a recording/demo of rehearsals.

A big mistake not to come back later and re-arrange the tunes. Shame as it has some really good ideas, some epic riffs etc.
But it's just unfinished work. They can use parts of it as a film soundtrack.
The first two tunes are the worst, simple jams, not going anywhere, Lars just washing on his crash cymbal.
The drone sounds and noises are very cool, some of the riffs are the best they've made in years but the whole thing is just loose and without direction.
And Lou's voice doesn't fit, he should have just played those drones, feedbacks and guitar noises.
