Devotee, this shit is called crabcore. I guess the politically correct term is electronicore or electronic post-hardcore or whatever the fuck but the bands who started it used that ridiculous crab stance, very suitable as the music is equally ridiculous. There's not even brostep there, just bad 90's euro trance/hardstyle gimmicks which just should have died off. Thanks to Tommy, on this board we also call it crabcakes.

And there's even worse shit.... like this suburban gasta-hop screamo abomination http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TH5ibABP4U

Or what about mixing together Scooter and black metal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIUcZd8W9TI

I bet you can't find anything worse than this

Not a lot of blues rock chatter there!
I feel festive all year round. Deal with it.

        Lev,
I used to live right up the block from them before they were famous, i used to style them out partying,
I probably did the most time with Monkey, David, and Brian, or "Head" whatever you want to call him, i liked brian too because he
was so thankful and humble when i'd party them out. Jonathon was always a little taken back by me, this was when i was in my
prime, i was like a fucking storm back then. All of a sudden out of nowhere, Sony signs them, but they still sat around for a llong
spell while their record was on the shelfs of stores, and then finally they latched on and toured with Ozzy and they just took off
after that. They made some pretty serious bread. I love the first Korn album, but it's probably more to do with me
being friends with them, but i do like "Ball Tongue" that's a great song. Blind , Faggot, Shoots and Ladders, i liked it, i will totally admit it.
gonna have to give the new one a listen.

Hmmm ..Industrial tinged stuff comes to mind like The Kovenant, Tiamat, Samael, mid-era Moonspell, mid-era The Gathering (big Anneke fanboy) is one of my faves, Theater of Tragedy toyed with industrial dance grooves, Rammstein always rocks, Strapping Young Lad's "city" was definitely inspired by Fear Factory, Godflesh "street cleaner" for sure..

But I'm getting more and more into weird avant-garde proggy shit myself like Hammers Of Misfortune, Unexpect, Isahn solo works, Peccatum, Devin Townsend projects, Dan Swano (must for Opeth fans) projects, Arcturus for certain, Winds, Solefald (listen to "buy my sperm"), Ewigkeit (pretty F'd up) , and *Enemies of The sun (awesome IMO), but their songs vary so don't judge the band by one song. In fact alot of these, obscure bands are like that.

OH..and Snoogans turned me onto Sleepy Time Gorilla Museum..their vids are pretty cool.

Back on topic, I'm not a Korn fan whatsoever. BUT I did like that sick animated vid they did a few years back. Don't know the song title of course...but I guess it wasn't bad for Korn.
My buddy went to a Hammers of Misfortune show last night with Christian Mistress and said it was an awesome gig. I passed on it because it was at kind of a dive bar hehe. He picked up their stuff on LP at the show and now he needs to go out and buy a record player!

This is just getting out of hand.

I'm sure you have it Billz but in case you don't check out their stuff when they were Unholy Cadaver...

A track from the Unholy Cadaver album.. recorded before they changed their name to Hammers Of Misfortune. A completely awesome band, and a masterclass in son...

Metal with electronic music elements sounds great when metalheads have the right influences. I imagine you could use the elements of Mala, Coki, Benga, Kode9, Horespower etc. to make some kind of tribal psychedelic doom or whatnot... with sub bass lines and tape echo you can make some pretty trippy yet heavy stuff. I haven't heard something like that. Only brostep and metal mixes which have been made for 2 years or so.

Drum'n'bass is almost vanished from mainstream but there's one very popular band called Pendulum. They use rock and metal elements and have the same kind of fratboy army of followers. Needless to say, I don't know any die hard junglehead who likes them. And there is a reason for that because Pendulum sound like shit. They use the same simplistic beat over and over again, the same sounds, the same auto-tuned vocals etc. They're the Nickelback of dnb... and really they don't sound like dnb. There's so much that you can do... million ways how to chop up the beat and make different bass lines. I mean why not take ideas from Squarepusher or something like that.

Korn rocked until Head left. Head's first album was okay, but the new single is wicked cool. You can see where the song-writing talent went.

I saw Korn Live at Alpine Valley WI... it was insane... Raining all day and mud flying everywhere... on top of that Jonathan was spraying the crowd with a fire hose between songs... I guess everyone in the pavilion... where I was, nice, weren't wet enough...

They filmed the video Politics at the show I was at...

I was so fucking drunk before Korn came out around 11pm I couldn't tell you who the other bands were... Deftones played before them and they sucked hard. I still don't know how I didn't wake up in a jail cell.

                        Glad those days are over.

"Follow the Leader" is the album that made me a life long fan no matter what direction they go...

this little ball on the end of his tongue-lol This is their tribute to him. The first album rules.

I never bought it, but I borrowed it from a friend of mine when it first came out, played it quite a bit and really liked it. I didn't care for the stuff I heard off the next couple albums, but I did buy Issues and really enjoyed that one quite a bit... more rock oriented and less of the hip-hop/rap/whatever stuff they used to blend in.
