I mean if you like old Van Halen I just don’t see how you couldn’t like this….I don't miss Mike near as much as I thought I would....Wolf sounds solid to me....seems to fit right in...

I think its good stuff.....nothing ground breaking sure, but is that what you really thought it would be?

    Van Halen to me......IS BACK!
    just my thoughts.
have listened to the album now about 10 times or so. i like it, not a big surprise but good to hear a few new VH tunes the old-style way and not the Van-Hagar-Pop-Style.

I agree Tattoo was kind of a turn off but most of the other songs sound good. I had the same reaction to Jump when 1984 came out. Musically it's sounds good, especially Eddie but the lyrics and Dave's delivery are a little disappointing.

I was reserved on it.. Tattoo music was great but the lyrics suck.. Then I heard one that sounded like it should have been on the Fast Times at Ridgemont High soundtrack. But now I heard 3 others not on the radio. Beats Working, She's The Woman, and Trouble With Never.. Holy crap!! I'm stoked to hear the rest now!!

That's about what I expected for a horrible band in the 80's to produce today. They're all geriatric.

VH absolutely sucked in concert almost every time they played back then, now they can play but their music is horrible.

Seeing a bunch of 80 year old's playing adolescent pussy music is both hilarious and pathetic.

Funny how that 80 year old geriatric would put you to shame in a guitar challenge. Sure they may not be what they used to be, but neither are other bands such as Metallica. 30 years from now let's see if you can still rock as hard as you could in your early 20's.

And Woody Allen is probably a better comedian and director than I'd ever be. VH had a couple of great studio albums. They were horrible on tour.

                    So, what's your point?

edit: BTW, I'll say the same exact thing about Mustaine and Aerosmith in concert when they were on heroin. They both fucking sucked. Hard.

That's your opinion, and you're welcome to it, but I still think your opinion sucks the balls off a donkey in a Mexican cantina show.

As one of the few on this board who is probably old enough to remember VH in their hey day, (Saw them live twice the year the first album came out) I can tell you that besides the energy of the music, 80% of VH's live appeal was in the energy and physicality of their live show. Now, that being said and all obvious ignorant exageration of their age (80?? Really?) they are, in fact NOT teenagers. As a matter of fact, (if I'm not mistaken) didn't Eddie have a hip replaced? Anyway, my point is, when you are no longer a child, it's best to put childish things aside. Van Halen would look pretty rediculous doing midair splits and singing songs about getting laid in the back of their chevy. (that is assumng they even COULD do those midair splits) It's a hard thing when party bands grow up and have to re-invent themselves, but I give them kudos for trying.
Xenophobe, by your standards, rock musicians should retire at 30. I'm certainly glad few people have those standards, we'd be missing out on a lot of GREAT music. Just think, Ozzy wouldn't have been around to introduce us to Randy Rhoads or Jake E. Lee. Dio would have NEVER existed as a band and, where would Lemmy be? 90% of the heavy music you listen to ws inspired by at least one of these artist, I will guarantee you that. What would you be listening to if they hadn't? Justin Bieber? Oh, sorry, I gave away your secret.

Retire at 30? That means I'm 10+ years past retirement age!

That's fine. When they had great albums they sucked on tour. By the time they sobered up, their music turned to shit, 1984.

And yeah, I saw them 3 times back in the day. DLR ruined two of the shows. One of them Eddy blew. I refused to waste my money on them after. Am I bitter, obviously.
