  • Lamb of God - Resolution

Anyone pick up the Resolution CD yesterday? Holy crap! I call this album of 2012 so far... well, at least until the new Testament comes out next month.
Track 2 from the new Lamb of God album Resolution. This song is called Desolation. If you like this album then BUY it! It is worth the money!

Gotta love the orchestra on this one, too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLeqJmNgeKs

I was tempted at the store yesterday, but picked up Limited edition season 1 of Boardwalk Empire instead. It was on sale...

My GF actually picked this CD up for me on her way home from work yesterday... along with the new Dream Theater. I've listened to the LoG a few times already and the DT just once so far. I'm a little disappointed in the DT and think it'll take a bit more for time to get into.

I pre-ordered it on itunes and downloaded it at midnight the other night. I haven't had much chance to listen to it so far but everything I've heard so far is solid. There's even actual authentic SINGING on one of the tracks!

This weekend it will be mine.
I want to go out nice and peaceful in my sleep like my grandfather, not screaming and hollering like the passengers in his car.

Randy's vocals have definitely gotten better the last couple albums!

I just saw em last night in NYC, they killed!!! They played 3 or 4 songs from the new one, opening up with the 1st track. My friend got the tix. I didn't realize how small the venue was gonna be (Irving Plaza). I haven't seen a national act in that small a place since seeing Pantera at the Metropol (Pgh, PA) in the early 90s. They mentioned they opened for Metallica last year at Madison Square Garden. I missed that one, but caught em 3 yrs or so ago at the Roseland Ballroom, which is 3 times the size of this venue.

Oh, did I mention the band sounded great too!

I've never been to Irving Plaza, but I saw Exodus two years ago at the Gramercy Theater and had never been there before and was surprised how small that place was!

These guys just keep getting better and better with each album. I wondered if Wrath could be topped. Thanks toejam, I wasn't aware of the release, but just downloaded it, and the whole thing is awesome.

Yeah, I’ve been to the Gramercy, but this place is even smaller! There’s more of a bar area than the Gramercy in the back of the place on both levels but the actual floor space in front on the band is tiny. There’s a very narrow balcony on either side and slightly larger in the back which makes up the 2nd floor. Apparently, this was for the more expensive VIP seating which we didn’t have.

Outside of seeing the band itself, the best thing was we saw that chick Mistress Juliya, on her way out while hanging at the bar upstairs. I actually didn’t recognize her at first, but my friend did. I remember her from those Uranium shows…she’s still hot, BTW!

First song on the new LoG is crushing. What a way to open an album. Total Eyehategod worship though. Still good. Then from track 2, it goes into your LoG-style. Not bad. Need to re-listen. Hasn't grown on me completely.

You want total devastation? Check out the new one from Black Cobra. It's a 2-piece from San Francisco. They decimate all with just a guitar and drums.
