  • Morton finally chooses a pickup...

After using a shitload of Duncans, DiMarzios and EMGs through the years, Mark finally gets a signature set of DiMarzios that are a tweaked version of the Breed models.

Craving that elusive Lamb of God tone? Well, you're in luck!

Next week at the Winter NAMM show in Anaheim, California, DiMarzio will officially launch the Mark Morton "Dominion" signature model pickup, which will be available in bridge and neck models.

"This pickup completes the circle for me ... it's the missing link in my search for THE SOUND," says Morton of his new signature pickup. "The clean tones are like bells and pianos... simply gorgeous. The rhythms are the perfect balance of cream and crush. There’s such a unique character to the saturation... it’s thick and massive, but equally accurate and concise. The gain structure is super tight without sacrificing body and depth, and the lead tones are absolutely scorching. It's got all of the sear, slice and sustain you could ever ask for. Can you tell that I'm in love?!"

Wow, that bridge is hot as hell. I wonder if the Dominions will come with these instead of the 59's now. (They still make Dominions right?!? ) I bet in 6 months he's using different pickups again haha.

I know he has the Breeds in his black beauty, and I believe that's what Jackson used in the Custom Shop run a few people here got, but I believe they're still using the Duncan '59s in the sig models.
I love the sound of the '59s in my first-year run, but they could be just a touch hotter. I was just playing that yesterday, and that thick neck rules!

One day I will own a Dominion. Since I can't bond with Les Pauls, I'm hoping it will help get me close to the LP tone.

Yeah, I am not in the market just now, still recovering from my Taylor Christmas present to myself!

I actually want one of the 2.0 ones with the natural body binding and unfinished necks. (Or if I come across enough cash and could pry one loose, one of those limited CS run that we're built!)
