You ever hear his piano playing? Dude shreds on piano as well! Heard he was/is a classically trained concert pianist and his piano chops back that up. So much talent in one person. Sheeesh.

Your post just reminded me that I saw Tony 3 times! 2 with Planet X (as said in my previous), he was the guitar player for those 2 gigs, than, the 3rd time, with Steve Vai, as the keyboard player! And yes, he can rock too on the keys!

Big fan of Tony. Have you guys ever heard any of the CAB stuff? Talk about technical playing!

Tony's guitar tone from Edge of Insanity and Maximum Security are tones I have been chasing since the 80's. I don't think there is another guitar player who has ever recorded with that kind of lead tone. It almost sounds like he double tracked everything. Also, the keyboard solo's and bass solo's on those albums are amazing and Tony played all of them. What a monster and he must be one heck of a humble guy to play keyboards for Steve Vai and not want to jump out with his guitar.
Is he still affiliated with Carvin?

Nope. He jumped over to Ibanez.

He did rock the keys a bit when I saw him. And he only played Ibanez 7 and 8 string guitars.

I saw Vai solo a few years back, as well as on the G3 tour, he had Tony doing keys and some guitar work...Tony stepped out briefly during both tours and showed only a fraction of his skillz. I'm guessing Steve prolly asked him to rein it in a little.
