  • Iron Maiden re-doing the 7th Son Tour

Yeah, it sounds like a cop out, like their Slavery tour redux, which I didn't see. But, I did see the 7th son tour in '88 and may need o check this one out for nostalgia's sake. Plus, their unfamiliar-to-me newer tunes will be kept to a minimum!
Tix begins for IM fanclub tomorrow, I believe.

I was at the Long Beach Arena for the first Power Slave Tour. I think the one in 08 was as good maybe better. I was able to take my 15yr old daughter with me in 08 and share part of my youth with her. She still talks about it and uses it as a standard by which to judge other shows that she goes to. So far none have measured up!

Their stop here is on a freakin monday.. Totally blows.. This "secondary market" sucks..
Bon Jovi is like a frozen Coca Cola.. It's cool, it's crunchy, but when all is said and done it is still pop....

My first concert ever was during their World Slavery Tour back in the day....They're playing here on a Saturday night...woo hoo! Think I'm going to have to go. My 11 year old daughter is begging to go...how cool is that! Even though they're calling it Maiden England tour, I too heard it is a 7th Son redux.

Isn't this the same tour? Maiden England was the title of the video (VHS, not DVD in '89) from the 7th son tour, which IIRC was filmed in England (duh. ), and it was clearly the setlist and stage from the 7th son tour. I saw em in Pittsburgh on that tour and the setlist was pretty much the same from what I remember.

BTW, the point of this thread was not to complain about Maiden re-using an old tour scheme, but rather to make it known to those fans out there that tix will go on soon for this tour. In the late 80s, I lived and breathed everything Maiden. The SIT tour was my first Maiden show and I was bummed I couldn't go to the Back in Time tour, so I really wanna make this one.

                  From their website:
The MAIDEN ENGLAND WORLD TOUR will closely mirror, in terms of production and content, the original 1988 concert video of the same name, shot on the “Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son Tour”.

                  Also:
Our intention is to play about two thirds of the original track list of Maiden England (shown below*), including some songs we have not played live in a very, very long time, plus other favourites we just know the fans are going to want to hear!

*Maiden England 1988 Longform Video VHS Tracklisting
Moonchild, The Evil That Men Do, The Prisoner, Still Life, Die With Your Boots On, Infinite Dreams, Killers, Can I Play With Madness, Heaven Can Wait, Wasted Years, The Clairvoyant, Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, The Number Of The Beast, Hallowed Be Thy Name, Iron Maiden.

Duh on my part...for some reason my brain was thinking Maiden Japan while clearly discussing England. Bummed I missed the Somewhere Back In Time tour...not going to miss this one! Tix tomorrow morning!!

Maiden was always pretty great in concert. They had some recent one on HDNet and that was amazing.

I've seen so many different Iron Maiden tours, I can't count... The first time I saw them was on Piece of Mind... that tour came around here twice if I remember correctly. Powerslave? I think they came around 3 or 4 different times for that tour. lol. Seventh Son is the last time I saw them. They were great in-concert every time.

Awesome. Really glad Maiden is doing this one. Exciting for those of us who are too young to have seen some of these songs played live before, just like the Somewhere Back in Time tour.
