Sad but true. I love George's playing, but the absence of youth and cocaine has derailed him a decent bit.

As for the glove, while it's dumb, didn't he wear one back when they did Breakin' the Chains and he was rocking the Kajagoogoo hairstyle? :P

Always loved his playing, but I never did much reading about him. Was he known as a coke guy?

I've heard stories. He's owned up to using it of course, but I've heard that (not that it distances him from his contemporaries) a lot of his spontaneity in his prime came from cocaine-fueled creativity. Sad thing is, I've heard that's one reason he doesn't do note-for-note renditions: he can't remember how he did them in the first place.

That being said, in the old days he could still improvise and 9/10 sound as good or better than the recordings.

It's true dude. George has owned up to completely stealing "Limahl's" hairstyle:

Q:One last question. Did Limahl of Kajagoogoo steal your hairstyle from the Breaking the Chains days? I’ve got money riding on this.

GL: He did it first, and I copied it.

Q: Really? George Lynch copied his hair style from the guy who sang "Too Shy?"

GL:Yeah, and being a liquor truck driver, it made life more difficult. The hair caused quite a stir.

Q: I'm guessing you saw the video and said, "That's cool."

GL: I jumped on it pretty quickly – before the video came out, actually. I gave guitar lessons at this Cerritos guitar store, and we heard about all the new music before anyone. So we knew about it (the "Too Shy" video) before anyone.
            We all make mistakes. ;p

Haha, I like how he say's he ripped it before the video came out but then in the same sentence says he saw it in the video and then copied it.

Interesting... I was living in Cerritos back then (as was Carlos Cavazo) - I wonder which store he is referring to?

Why does George Lynch always look soaking wet. He was dry when he was good...now he's all wet.

                    Get it..all wet?

                    That's funny!

Oh..that's why he wears that glove. In fact, I never seen him without that glove. Even in interviews. I bet he can't take it off. It's been stuck on his hand since 1996. That was the year OJ got off with murder. He wore a glove that didn't fit. coincedence..I think not. I think George Lynch was hired by OJ for murder...check that glove for DNA!!!

Hmmmm ..Michael Jackson only wore one glove...wait??? This is conspiracy type shit. I think George Lynch is responsible for the death of Michael Jackson...and 911 !!! Oh, man I am awesome at solving crimes!! These are 1000% facts!!!

It's sad, really. Loved his stuff in the day. Some people just don't know when to retire, I guess.

George, these days (hell, maybe always) is very hit-or-miss. He never cracks the ceiling that keeps him from playing like he did in his prime, but sometimes he has a really good night. I'm not hating on the guy, he's just not the same as the guy I grew up idolizing.

That being said, I still check out his new work and I look forward to his project with Mick and Jeff, if it ever comes out. ;p
