  • New Loudness - Heavy as hell!

Man Akira has such killer tone... I grabbed this off iTunes when I was getting the new Vai album. It's a bit of a contrast!

AKIRA IS GOD....and I never use that stupid cliche.

Honestly he's been my #1 favorite all around player since 1985.

This guy can do it all, he can cover any style, it doesn't matter how technical, heavy or tasty...he can DO IT.

My friend bought Disillusion when it was released and also had a picture disc of his solo CD Tusk of Jaguar. I knew I was hearing something different. People were all hung up on Exploder and how it 'ripped off' Eruption. But once you listened to Tusk at the time you knew this guy had way more to offer than "Japanese EVH copy".

He really brought a bit more classical in to the mix as well until Yngwie kind of started to own that aspect. But Akira always has amazing tone, especially his neck tone. So open but still cutting.

Even though I've never been a huge fan, they've amazed me on so many occasions. Amazing energy live... great vid. Thanks for posting.

Holy crap, that was awesome! I haven't listened to Loudness in years. I got the Thunder in the East cassette when it came out, and I've got Lightning Strikes on vinyl. I think the last time I listened to them was when they had Mike Vescera from Obsession singing, who later sang on a couple Yngwie albums. I need to rediscover them. Thanks for posting!

This was actually released in Europe and Japan about 8 months ago, but just released in North America on the 14th of this month.

Man, i have mentioned before here that Loudness never really lost it, even most the albums without the original members are still really good. Maybe the style change lost people, but those people then missed out on good shit, buy any of them, they are all awesome.

It also seems like they may be coming back to the world market, like, we've been gone too long, we have something to prove. I hope so, for they are one of the best band of their era and still continue to be.

                      1985

*Just* for those who aren't familiar with the mighty Loudness, here's what they sounded like in 1985...the year they invaded the United States. Late that year, I was visiting Delores Rhoads at Musonia Music in North Hollywood...I had just seen Loudness at the Hollywwod palladium and learned that Akira was a huge Randy Rhoads fan...I started to tell Mrs. Rhoads about Akira and Loudness and she stopped me....'Oh yes, he was here just a few days ago...a wonderful man, just so polite and full of appreciation of Randy...I didn't get a chance to hear him play but he had a big musical presence about him...despite the language barrier'.

My uncle saw them at M3, and was blown away with how heavy they were.
