Thrilled to see these guys with U.S. distribution again. It was always such a pain to find their Japanese only releases. Akira's even more amazing now than he ever was. The new drummer is really good, too. R.I.P. Munetaka Higuchi.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you...but it's still on the list.

Akira has always been way overlooked.

I think you can hear some of the Randy influence in this track from his 82 solo album... (Maybe some Brian May too.)

And this track busts out some super sideways stuff including some crazy acoustic tapping runs...

What I miss the most in Loudness though is M.Higuchi. He had a way of pushing the beat a little that gave the song more urgency.

When this came out in 1984 it was one of the heaviest fastest songs I'd ever heard and the whole band nails it live...

His other solo albums that are great too, if you fancy some experimental and stuff like maybe Adrian Belew and stuff like that.

          With Paul Gilbert

He's one of the very best rock guitarists ever, and deserves any accolades that Vai, Malmsteen, Satch, EVH, Schenker, Pettrucci, ect would garnish.
It does suck about Higuchi, there was some magic lost there, really sucks. The guy was an amazing drummer/musician...for that matter the whole band. Pro as it gets.
