dann huff preamp?

i was wondering if it would be too much trouble to maintain an old kasha rockmod preamp in regards of repairs and buying vintage tubes or if i could get the same tone through axefx or something that's a new peice of machinery?

Dan Huff is more about "tone in the fingers" I think.

scratchy pots are easily replaced (or even some cleaning often works wonders)
and you don't need to buy vintage tubes anymore, there are currently new ones being produced

Vintage tubes? You can if you want but new EHX tubes are pretty good.Made in Russia.
Clean the pots and use it.
