Pearcy's lyric writing has reached its zenith on Infestation.

    "You're wrong, I'm right
Two wrongs, don't make a right"

The way he rhymed "right" with "right"? Genius!
    Hail yesterday

Have to agree with some stuff said here. De Martini is also my fav player amogst others. Most of all I love the way he keeps the tone and the way he stretches things and puts some odd notes in there in a really heartfelt and tonal, old bluesman kind of way but with rock, he just feels it and runs wild and that comes across in his playing, despite also phrasing and composing stuff excellently and obviously thinking stuff through technically, but it never comes across like that. The thing is I think he needs a catalyst to bring the best out of him as on his own, he still has it but comes across a little flat, like he is not really feeling it. Maybe he is quite shy, maybe that is it, or maybe he is sensitive or doesn't like to be a spot performer? When he is released from himself and is in his element, tonally he is unstoppable and about the best out there. But I don't think you can switch it on and off with him.

I think the success of Ratt was Robbin's solidity and Demartini's sensitive and artistic flair. But without Robbin it might not have happened and I also think, despite his own obvious solos and riffs, he had more creative input then people reckon. The two of them were kind of symbiotic.

Of course all this is make believe bullshit as I never met the guy, but that is the impression I get anyways. Love him and really get where his playing is coming from! Tone monster, totally from the heart and really keeps you hanging.

What year did Pearcy turn into Paul Stanley anyway? Life seems to have taken a particularly harsh toll on him for some reason.

to mix flash with taste, and also construct the catchiest fuckin' riffs that are so pleasing to my
ear, the guy can do no wrong. I can listen to Ratt tunes and block out everything but his playing
sometimes. Pearcy in the studio sounded cool, like he drank battery acid before recording but
live was always a different story. I saw them for 10.00 at the beacon Theatre in new York in '84.
they were warming up Motley Crue, and I had a new guitar hero to try and rip off, I was overjoyed.
He's a modern day Keith Richards without the narcotics.
Does anyone else harbor the same love for this guy as I do? I'd take him over 10 Yngwie's anyday.
I thought he was the whole band honestly, not to insult any of the other members of the band, or fans of Robbin Crosby,
of which there are so many, especially on here, but no Warren, and where would that band be in history today?
As usual, Atomic Tommy is spot on about that slippy buttery fingered DeMartini dude. He's one of my favorites. Super cool dude too. I had the chance to meet him after a show in 2005, and he talked to my best friend and I thirty minutes or so. I was kind of shocked at how down to earth he seemed. I'll post a picture when I get home from work.

Warren D istill rules and should get another band together and rule!! Forget Ratt, that done..do the "hits" in the set. There is an infinite sea that would love to work with Warren.

Also, Where' Vitto Bratta. Man that dude was tagged an Eddie-clone and Grunge and Rap killed him..like many others. He's amazing! But there is so many players that kept their nose to the grindstone. Went on with their lives and put out great music that was and STILL completely ignored.
"Bill, Smoke a Bowl and Crank Van Halen I, Life is better when I do that"
              Donnie Swanstrom 01/25/06..miss ya!

Hey Billz, I agree, Vito was a great player. He dropped out of music for a couple reasons:

Vito Bratta had not been heard from since 1994 until his interview by Eddie Trunk live on February 16, 2007. The following key points were revealed during the Eddie Trunk interview: Vito Bratta's father suffered through a 5-year illness, which required a large amount of personal time and commitment on Vito's part, both emotionally and financially. In 1997, he injured his wrist while playing classical guitar and finds it painful to move his hand up and down the guitar neck; he manages to play nylon string guitars without too much discomfort. This injury seems to not be fully healed. In addition, he clarified that he has never ruled out a White Lion/Mike Tramp reunion; up until now, they have simply been impossible due to family obligations and his wrist injury.

Yeesh, I can certainly can relate. My god, it's hard to find the time to visit this place. My family..myself..it's overwhelming at times. Even when I'm not busy, my mind is racing. I'm commited to family but my morals dictate to NEVER burden them.

I connected to that guy. I really love his style!!! I remember some old interviews. He's a real cool, funny, humble dude. We could be friends or family. He's a dago..thru and thru. I think.

Yeah, everything I read about him sounded like he was a very humble, quiet, down to earth guy.

Monster player. I still have their first cd, and whenever I toss it in I'm reminded of just how tasty his playing was.

Sadly, anyone that tapped in the 80's, was cast as an Eddie-clone. No matter what context..unless you were Stanley Jorden.

In hindsight it was just a new tool to work with. It doesn't matter the tool. Does anyone care what exact pick Eddie used on the first record? What paint brushes and chisels Micheal Angelo, and DaVinci used. No, it's the work that matters. What Vitto played is absolutely timeless IMO. Even tho the tone and band wasn't. You can sing or hum ALL of those solos. Again, forget your old band and move on. Play the hits in the set. Write again..it's a shame. Or forget touring..just write from your heart and put it out. Unless, he just doesn't feel up to the task anymore. I hope he's not wearing any gloves!!!

Does anyone ever think that guys like Jimi, Randy..ect died at their peak. Maybe they had a little more in them or not. They became who they were in that window of time. Time doesn't give a shit..some age well, some don't.

I always hated the Akira got lumped in to "EVH Copycat" back in the day. The only similarity in their styles was they both used their right hand to fret notes. But I guess Ed "owns" tapping?

I think thats the way to go. I want to own the G note. Any music that utilizes a G is ripping me off man!

I dug Vito, but really really dislike Mike Tramp's vocals. Even though Vito would tap like Eddie, his solos were very Randy Rhoads like in the way that they were like little melodic compoositions that fit the song. Not just strings of pentatonic licks. I still rip out the riff to Lady of the Valley when I'm jamming out in my man cave.

Vito was amazing. I have always said he was the last true virtuoso of popular music. he was all about melody and music, not about 18 million notes in 8 bars. Everyone wrote him off because they said he was an "Eddie clone". Bullshit. that dude was far more musical than Eddie. I know I will probably get flamed for this, but I really think he is a far better player than Eddie. Eddie is a one trick pony. Vito had a much more to offer from his tool bag.

Of course... wood and protein are a natural combination.

It's everywhere in the nature, in every form.

Also in paintings. Paper is made of wood, great painters used a lot of paints made of bugs, snails, mollusks etc. which is also protein. Some may think this is disgusting... but they can't paint for shit either. Great painters weren't afraid of bug juice or cow piss. The same with cooking, those who can't cook think a piece of fillet is the best and the only part worth of using while great chefs use everything... blood, intestines, tripes, balls etc. Uneducated, mediocre people think that tasty things are disgusting.

Goo-on on a guitar is natural, it's bound to happen anyway, guitar hangs and rubs against the groin area, girls flashing titties in the crowd, the pants ruin it though so one has to do it in home without anything getting in the way.
