I agree I really dig vito's style. I remember trying to learn the solo to "wait". It wasn't structured like any solo I've ever learnt...

The pure genuis gushing thru this thread is dumbfounding! I think people should hit a reset of sorts. Too much input from the same source..makes zombies that know what a Kardashian is. She's a pretty asshole..that's it. Like many pretty assholes completey ignored. While all those assholes are not even compared to KK's asshole. No, not that asshole who left Judas Priest. I don't want to see his asshole. Maybe Rob does..but that's cool. What if KK..Kerry King's asshole is more musical to aliens than Vito Bratta's asshole. "Kerry Fucking King" would laugh at this shit. He prolly is. Fuck you Kerry King...fuck you! You Tattooed your head, now you gotta talk to your kid's teachers like that..and your grandchildren will ignore you, and give the finger during Thanksgivin'.

          These are things..

          ..of wonderment.

Oh yeah..Warren D...yeah, he's good. I like the tone of the LID intro, and the solo to 'Body Talk' best.

Ratt's "Body Talk", appeared in a Eddie Murphy movie called "The Golden Child" It was about a child full of wonderment..that had to be saved...because.

Very nice Razor. Warren still looks good. I never saw Ratt live. I was supposed to go with a friend in '86 who died in a car accident after the show. Yep, I blew him off that night..

                weird.

                      Meatpump rides! 25 Cents!

I think the think I like the most about Warrens playing is he has a good command of dynamics in a solo. A good mix of soulful bending, tasty note choices, the ability to throw fire when necessary and also back of when necessary. He gets it when it comes to crafting a solo.

Vito did too. Hopefully he gets his injury problems taken care of and can play the guitar again without discomfort. It would suck for me to not have it to turn to when I need some time to let the days events go and just flow.

My really being into Ratt and Dokken faze was brief. You think yer Tough was a local hit in LA at the time, and probably one of the first local LA bands besides Van Halen that i heard on the radio. I thought it sounded so heavy and mean So i was a fan right away, all that stuff came like a snowball after that. I haven't listen to Ratt in 20 or more years, but i can still recite some of his solos in my head after all this time. So that's a good thing. I was pretty impressed with him when Way Cool Junior came out, i thought that was really cool showing he had other stuff up his sleeve. There was some cool stuff on Dancing Undercover too though by that time i wouldn't have went out of my way to hear it but it was heard in passing when girls were playing it at parties or in the car. It was fun when you were drunk and titties were pop poppin. For sure Ratt was a huge early gateway influence.

Honestly, Eddie is the reason the way I sound like I do. I LOVE Vai most of the time. But I never liked his tone. It's strange as he is. His lead tone is very cool, but his rythm are kinda harsh, sterile, nasily..sometimes muddy. One thing for sure..he has his sig. You know it is him immediately! He's amazing. Love his lead tones..that's more consistant. I prefer Satch's latter tones..after the first couple records. They both sound better live IMO. Ironically Ed sounds best in the studio..he's a tweaker.

I loved him best with Alkatraz. His DLR stuff is stellar. I liked his tone with WS alot, but he fit like a square peg. Sykes oozes tone no matter when, who or how.

I guess it is all the tapping and phrasing that Vai reminds me of VH.......to me Vai may have been a student of Satch but sounds nothing like him...........MM
