not surprising. Teenage Vai takes lessons for a while from teenage Satch. Then gets inspired by Zappa, works up his chops, gets a job playing for his hero. Little Stevie's music is just infused with Frank.

Hammett doesn't sound much Satriani either. The Hamster sounds like he's still trying to make solos out of the exercises Joe gave him.

Agreed, but I think Vai surpassed the teacher.......Hammett, while a good guitar player is in neither one of the other two player's spectrum

So I'll redo my group pic one of these days.

Nice collection! Man I dont think I ever saw that many DeMartini and Crosby guitars in one place before! Thanks for sharing that pic.
Now, let me ask you, which one of those are your fav? My fav is that Big Red, wow what a nice guitar! And I'm a lefty, so thats the most viable candidate for a re-string because it's symmetrically shaped, That's one reason I fallin love with the King V. I'd love to have a Big Red some day...Very nice collection indeed!!
I'd love for you to post an updated pic with all of them in one shot.

Thanks again for the compliments. Much appreciated! My holy grail is the French - it's my #1. The others are all great players too but the French has a special vibe to it when I play it.

And if you get the chance, pick up a Big Red (even if you had to pull a Jimi Hendrix with it). But I've seen a lefty crossed swords and brown python. They're out there if you want to track one down or order one.

I do believe George and Warren sound similar because they both took guitar lessons from Mick Thompson. I know for a fact he was George's teacher and I think I heard or read Warren saying something about learning from Mick Thompson in the past. Also I read Warren saying that the intro to "Way Cool JR." was learned from a Frank Zappa trick.
This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.

Johnny, ever see the reverse bomber? Black background for the rising sun vs white. I saw it on a USAC thread - looked awesome too. Bomber is my favorite graphic.

Yes, I have seen the bomber with the black background. I thought I had a pic of it but can't find it. Now that you mention it, maybe it was on USAC. And I've actually kicked around the idea of doing a similar bomber - just haven't gotten around to it.

So many choices, so little time... If I could pick 10 favorite guitars, 8 of them would be from your collection above. So nice!

George Lynch studied with "Mark Thompson" in Arizona. Warren didn't take lessons from him...
