I've been listening to alot of Lynch stuff lately, even recent gigs. I never realized what a "go for it" type of player he is. I guess it never dawned on me how many chances he takes, even back in the day. The difference was back in the day, he probably put more time into practicing.

Either way it is inspiring me to do the same. I can't wait to play Saturday night and chase everyone out of the bar with my ummm... "improvisations"

If I was nearby, I'd definitely come and check this out.

After Billz' comments, a certain album of Spinal Tap comes to mind

Billz, part of the reason I posted in this thread was because you did... glad to see you still around. I don't come around here much anymore since I only have one beat up Charvel left...

And then just a few years later, Don hires quite possibly the best Lynch mimic there is. :P

As for Reb's take on the solos...a lot of them were great, some I was a little "meh" on. "In My Dreams" for instance when he goes into the 12-15-19/20 tapping portion, he did a goofy variation with a wah that I thought was crap. Even with that, he was probably my favorite Lynch replacement. Faithful for the most part, but not a complete mimic. He brought his own flavor in. Levin, while a great guy and hell of a guitarist, seems stuck in a "what would George do?" rut. And honestly, I can find 20 guys like that on YouTube (just like Journey!). :P
            the 12/15/19/20 part isnt tapped.
Its a complete catastrophe. But Im a professional, I can rise above it. LOL

Eh, I called it tapping because Reb did tap it. I know George plays it (as do I, not as well of course ;p) with hammer-on/pull-offs.

Definitely won't be there since I'm in California. And I wouldn't pay $20 for a clinic. I've seen Vinnie Moore, Tony MacAlpine, Michael Lee Firkins, Joey Tafolla, and others I can't remember do clinics in music stores and they were all free. And yes, I'm bald, and yes we shave our balls. Bald heads, bald balls. Is there any other way?

It was awesome, it was a true honor to have George in my shop! He was a huge inspiration for me when I was at GIT, I saw him open for Aerosmith in 87, again on Monsters of Rock and on the first Lynch Mob tour, so having him here was very cool for me. He played his ass off, had some really interesting stories and is highly knowledgeable about all things gear related. The highlight for me was going for dinner and drinks with him afterward... definitely a high point for me in 17 years of owning a music store. I was really impressed with how down to earth he was, just a super friendly guy!

That's awesome dude, glad it went off without any problems. I wonder what he's gonna do now, since T&N isn't touring until next year and Lynch Mob is allegedly on hiatus?

He's busy as hell. Said he's working on a project with Dug Pinnick from Kings X, another T&N record due out next year and a movie. Plus he has 6 kids and 3 grandkids. He also builds guitars whenever he has a free minute and I believe he does some charity work. The man has quite the full life!

Yeah, I heard about him and Dug working together (I think Ray Luzier is in the mix with that project too). I just hope Lynch Mob hooks back up, I was digging on the EP they did this past year. The first T&N record is a decent one too (it's not quite "old George," but I still like it. Just gotta face facts, the man is 58 now.).

I'll keep my ear to the ground, thanks for the update Matt!
