  • Adrian's axe in Stranger In A Strange Land video

Anybody know anything about it. You get a good look at it about the 3:36 mark of the video. There are a tone of control features on it. I'm just curious what all of it does.
HEre is a link to the video.

Well, we are talking SiT here
I would think half of those controls are for the guitar synth

"The synth period" it sure took a lot of the natural sound away. I'm glad they didn't keep going with that.

What 'natural sound'? those gallien and kruger amps were more responsible for the tone on that album than the synths were

Personally, I consider SiT and SSoaSS their best albums made

SIT and SSOASS were definitely a different Maiden tone, but I also think that was some of their best work. SIT is so different sounding, it just sounded new and fresh for them, IMO.

Was Bruce was taking stage move lessons from DLR around that time?

As I remember, SiT was mostly recorded with Marshalls and the G&Ks were used for the clean stuff. But don't quote me! Marshall is thanked on the album liner as is G&K? Either way, it's the best guitar sound they had and Dave's solos still sounded fresh unlike now! This was a real "coming out" album for Adrian.

My favourite IM album by the way. Even though Bruce no like it????

I would think that probable, only, when I could play along with a Super D equipped axe thru an ADA MP1 and Marshall JMP-1, there always was an odd midrange thing going on
                        I could never replicate

Here's a YT clip showing the GK distortion is more than capable of the job

Nice one! Wish Maiden would play Alexander live! I prefer it to Mariner!

I know I shouldn't make comments without having videos of my own playing, but watching his left hand makes me a little ill. How people can play like that and still keep time...
