Notice the headstock decal placement. They did it one way one the ebony and a different on the maple.

The headstock on the ebony is shaped different than the maple as well

I like the first headstock shape. What do they call that second one? CBS?

I'm pretty sure the heads are the same - the first pic of the ebony makes it look CBS because the side of the head kind of blends into the face, and that combined with the logo placement makes the head look bigger.

Very cool. What's with the tape on the trem cavity cover? Does he not realize that they make little screws that can hold those on? He and Budman should hook up.

I was thinking it might be a belt buckle shield but I'm not sure...

No. In the first post, the maple is a new generation headstock. The ebony neck is Ontario or San Dimas shaped headstock. In the second post, I'm not sure because the angle makes it hard to determine, but it looks original AMIC/AKAI. The volutes are another way to differentiate between Jackson pattern and Fender pattern.

I'm no good at this. To me a strathead is a strathead.

Not sure why they tape the trem cavity up thomas nordig Steve Vaisya tech does this to his guitars using cotton pads maybe it helps add to the sound my guess is that it helps keep the springs protected and maybe adds the sound quality

I only know cause, back in the ezboard days, I paid a lot of attention when the Charvel guys would tear apart fakes. I'm fairly certain my Jackson is true CJ SD shaped while the newer ones are Fender templates.

Are those nickel frets, or stainless steel? I've been wanting to find a lefty or a right with stainless steel to see how they feel versus nickel.
