In my opinion Seasons in the abyss was the last good record they made. I bought the big four DVD and they were the worst performance on the thing by far. Also from a technical stand point Jeff Hanneman was a slob of a player and so is Kerry King to a lesser degree.

This band has not deteriorated with time! Although they might not have many catchy riffs and money making songs like Slayer did, even their latest album was fun to listen to.

Slayer went downhill just like Sepultura did after Arise.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who noticed the horrible guitar playing. You should see that Big four DVD if you think there playing is bad. It's the sloppiest crap you'll ever hear. All they ever did was play a fast jumble of notes that as you said aren't even in key. Don't get me wrong I loved some of the old melodic harmonized rhythms but that's as far as it goes.
