  • Lombardo punted from Slayer!

Longtime Slayer drummer left in a state of shock after being replaced for the group's forthcoming tour in Australia.

Probably sad news for long time fans.

Money is a deal breaker in so many bands.

It's getting a bit sad with them at the moment - with only two of the originals left, and with two 'hired hands' (no matter how awesome Holt is) rather than proper full time replacements, it's a bit pathetic. Time to take a break, take stock and get your affairs in order I'd have thought..

          Something is up I think.

I agree. With Hanneman being on sabbatical for so long now, I'm wondering if it isn't just the spider bite and now this with Lombardo, it makes you wonder.

I heard they are getting Jon Dette, too. They booted him out the last time he was in Slayer because he sucked.

Being a long-time Slayer fan (if 10 years is a long time...) it saddens me to see this. It's also surprising - I would assume a band with Slayer's calibre would be able to feed its band members. I must be grossly mistaken.

It sucks to see Dave go, and I have to count my lucky stars for being able to see him with the band live back in 2006.

Dave's been in and out of the band a few times now. Sad to see him go, but I would love for Tommy to leave too and then have Dave, Jeff, and Tom form their own version of Slayer
I think Kerry has been drinking Scott Ian's koolaid a little too much. Nothing but a money grabbing whore.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, they should have quit after South of Heaven. Just a bunch of commercial mall-core and rehashed harmonies.

I can't disagree, although their later albums did have some good songs.
It's all about the blues-rock chatter.

Just glad I got to see em in 2010 before the spider-bite and now this. If I was an aussie, I'd want half-off on my ticket. Half the price for half the band.

True, though i thought world painted blood was a step in the right direction. First Hanneman, now Lombardo...Goodbye Slayer. Only Tom is left, Kerry can go to hell.
I want a guitar made of ALL abalone. That would be badass. All shellfish should die for my shreddage delight.

I was just going to say that! I caught them with Testament when they played at the Cow Palace. That was a good show. Sad to seem them fall apart like this.
