As I said...was spinning Chet when I was about 4 years old.
I never even heard Les until that "Chester and Lester" LP showed up at our house.
My first thought was "Man this is some corny stuff".
But listening to both of them side by side let me know about Les, and he was a funny, inventive
player just like he was in life.

Blizzard of Oz, when it first came out, made me want to play guitar.

Speak of the Devil, when it first came out, made me want a Floyd Rose.

I took a long while before posting here because I had to separate my influences in style from who got me started. While I could rattle off a list of influences as long as my arm (I'm sure all of us could), sitting down and going back mentally through the years, back to my roots, to recall that one moment when I said to myself "I gotta learn to do that!" was a bit hard for me. Some of the ones named here, like Roy Clark and Buck Owens, of course Lynyrd Skynyrd, Stevie Ray... so far southern/classic rock... the boys from Ratt without a doubt, Motley Crue, Ozzy and such. Narrowed down to the one AHA! moment, I'd have to say B.B. King and the legendary Lucille. I'm actually amazed that The King is still with us and gigging regularly.
