Until you get mugged. Then someone says, "Why did you keep all the cash on you? Why didn't you keep it locked in the van?"

I'm pretty sure pro musicians have something other than homeowners. Just sayin'...

      If he doesn't, he's a complete dolt.

And who the hell carries large quantities of cash these days? These guys need better management.

It's all about the blues-rock chatter.

This sounds bizarre to me, but maybe its just me and my paranoid skeptical state. Which I always seem to be in these days.

                This...
Plastic/checks/travelers checks are replaceable, cash is not.
Sure you have some cash on hand for emergencies, but not ALL of it. Stupid decision.

This thread caused me to dig out my homeowner's policy. It is an "ISO HO-3 Special" form and I also have a Replacement cost endorsement. My situation is that I do play out occasionally, but it is only as a hobby and I don't get paid.

From that perspective, it appears there aren't any specific exclusions or limits for musical instruments for theft or any other peril. It states that personal property is covered anywhere in the world, which would mean off-premises...which would include items while in a vehicle. There IS a $250 limit for personal property off-premises if used for business purposes (i.e. a paying gig).

Conclusion: looks like my homeowner's policy takes care of my situation. If I was playing for money, it appears I'd only be covered for $250, so I'd want to get something beyond my homeowner's policy.

AFAIK musical instruments could be placed under 'valuables' insurance
like jewellery, so they are covered when 'worn'

but that may be only in my lowlands

                        ....still
the story just doesn't make sense

My home insurance policy covers all my possessions regardless of whether they are in my car, studio, office or at home, as long as they are locked away. Anyways, it seems rather strange they would carry so much cash around that it could ruin the tour. It begs a lot of questions. Was this the money they had been paid already or was it for paying for expenses along the way? In both cases, it's relevant to ask why they were then carrying it around with them instead of using a credit card.

The original story stated 'musical equipment', how long did it take them to realize they still had the gear? I'm with dvscool.

whatever...the dude is the best metal guitarist in the last 20 years..PERIOD!

He's not a rocket scientist..he's just plays the guitar...drug free. Sure, he loves a beer or two before the show..while I eat drugs.

If this was George fuggin' "Carpel Tunnel" Lynch...people would suggin dicks for his next fix..or ermmmmmm ..ummmmm another cover cd..that'll blow...big chunks of whazzooo.

BTW was this donation directly from Jeff or some insane fuckface fanboy? Jeff does NOT making a living ..paying bills ect.. doing what he's born to do. Instead, majorly prolasped dickholes buy, support, and listen to John Mayher..or some sincerely mediocre douche-like popstar! That fuck does shitty covers even worse than Georgey Porgey . Lynch can't cover his own shit! Jeff can cover ANYTHING he wishes..all by ear. Even Jason Becker's 'Perpetual Burn'..note for note and then some. EX) Hypothetical fucface question 'Ohhh Ohhhhh can he play the solo to "Tornado of souls"..???' If you think like that..just die. Stop breathing ...please...pretty please..with sugar on top.

Um Let's your Yngwie, Eddie, Warren, Jake, Dime or Randy do that! They can't, Gilbert prolly can..but that's it...these are facts! Uli Roth performed a Jason Becker song live with Jason in attendance..for Jason.

I find it ODD, that my two favorite players in the world play Jason Becker songs...for Jason. Everyone else can sugga dick. That's what I think!

Jimi Hendix can't play anything anymore. He totally sucks now...because he's DEAD! These are facts.

Oh ..he's so very dead..it's not even funny.

Randy, Criss Oliva ..Dime...their deadness is unbelievable.
