  • Beyond twilight appreciation thread

Any fans of this band from denmark? I have been listening to their Section X album for a couple of years and love it! I see there is another one available on Spotify. This is a true progressive band with a lot of changes in tempo, beats, vocals...Its definitely not a typical metal band.

A couple of my fav songs...

Let me know what you guys think of them.

Never heard of them, I thought it was going to be an extreme black/death metal band. I like the vocals and interesting instrument changes, never heard of anything quite like them.

I haven't learnt my lesson not to start black metal appreciation threads yet. But, this band is nothing close to black metal. I think they have drawn some influence from Psychotic Waltz.

But, I'm glad you think they're good.

Not that I have anything against black metal, I've actually found some pretty cool sounding bands I like, but the very harsh singing/screaming kind of kills it for me. The only band I could listen to with that kind of singing is Moonsorrow. Something about their music where I don't mind the singing...

Beyond Twilight sounds great though. I youtubed some other stuff by them and really like their stuff.

Clearly these guys can play, but overall I don't 'get' it.... And Drew's right, with the popularity of those movies its a poor choice for a band name(whether or not the bands older than the movies). I'll give any band a listen and I did make it all the way through both songs....

Yeah, some bands have poor choice in names. Like Arena for example. That is such a great band with superb pink floyd type solos, but that name is so so common that Pandora will start playing some hip hop band called Arena or some other totally unrelated band.

And the vocalist in Beyond Twilight used to be the guy from another band called Ark. That is also a great band.

Jorn Lande, one of the greatest heavy metal singers ever.
I feel festive all year round. Deal with it.

Same here. Thought I'd be seeing a fight between "Team Jacob" and "Team other guy" (fuck if I know)

If they have Jorn on vox, they will automatically get the BillZ stamp of approval.

Yup, they sure had (or have, not sure) Jorn on vocals! I am also a fan of his work on Masterplan.
