They can both play well and are obviously beautiful but.........Ask yourself this question......Would they even be famous if they didn't have boobs and weren't smoking hot. I think they'd just be two people in a tribute band. I've known guys who are in better tribute bands and could out play them with fingers missing off their fretting hand that don't get the recognition they get. I wonder why that is. I love Iron Maiden but there is not a single thing they do on the guitar that I've ever heard that is above the intermediate level.

So? Isn't it nice to see someone garner some attention for having an actual skill, regardless of their looks? They may not be the greatest guitarists in the world but they don't suck. And they look like they're having a blast playing it. Sure, plenty of ugly cover band dudes could play this stuff, but most people would be much less interested in watching them and they were hired to promote product at NAMM. Hell, if Adrian & Dave were on stage playing this stuff to backing tracks, you could say the same thing. Paul Gilbert, they ain't. Still two of my faves.

There will always be people who are good enough at what they do who get an opportunity because of how they look. And people who are excellent that don't get the same breaks. Because of how they look.

I'd much rather that someone is celebrated for playing an instrument well (even if the hook is their looks) than exalting some cumdumpster or douchebag who is famous for being famous. Those Kardashians are real renaissance women. Small business women, clothing designers, perfumers, singers, actors, public speakers. Aren't they? Or were all of those opportunities afforded them because a notorious lawyer's young daughter was filmed fucking a wannabe rapstar on film?

The IMs are still good enough to hang with or outplay quite a few of my favourite guitarists. Every one of my favourite guitarists is less attractive and more famous than these girls. So is it right that some of the "less-worthy" guitarists that I like are more famous than these two? They don't play guitar as well the Iron Maidens.

@VitaminG I agree with a lot of what you're saying but in an ideal world being a famous guitar player should be based solely on your playing or composition skills. I know we don't live in an ideal world and like you said there are a ton of players out there who never had that chance probably because they don't look as good as those girls and that was the point I was trying to make. Also I would never say that about Adrian or Dave because they wrote that material which is a completely different skill than just playing it. I just don't agree with anyone being in a cover band being famous. Sorry. Write your own material and then I'll give you props. Even with the music degree I have would trade all of my schooling to have written tunes like Iron Maiden. They'll live on forever because of what they wrote.

I'd rather listen to someone's shitty originals all night over a cover band any day of the week. At least the guy playing originals is somewhat creative.

I wasn't trying to bash anyone. I was just stating my personal opinion about people in cover bands being famous. I just can't see someone being famous for being a good copycat. Sorry again. I don't mean to be offensive to anyone or bash them. Maybe it just bothers me because when I was in college the professors always blew people who would play a classical piece so hard. (I.E. I had to play Mozart's violin concerto no.1 in B flat major on my guitar just to get into Duquesne University's music school the Mary Pappert School of music". After my mother taught me how to read music and I could do so fluently by age 15 ( She started teaching me when I was 7) I just never thought it was a big to deal to be able to play someone else's stuff. I've always had more respect for great composers over great players I guess you could say. But again not trying to insult anyone just my opinion. But that being said I can understand how hard some people who can't read music have to work to learn a song and those girls def. work hard for sure because I don't think they have had the benefits (and negatives and believe me there are plenty) of a classical music education.

On a side note, I saw Steel Panther in Vegas back in Nov. 2011 and the Iron Maidens were in the audience. The guys from Panther brought them up on stage to play a couple songs. Sachel played bass, these 2 girls played guitar and the IM singer did the vocals. I think they played The Trooper and Hallowed Be Thy Name. It was cool to see hot chicks kick out some great Maiden tunes. And it's always a party at a Steel Panther show.

Loomis is amazing! I liked the stuff he did with Nevermore a lot. I didn't know he was doing solo work now. I am going to have to check that out!
