Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I got tickets to go see Ozzfest Japan this Sunday.
Jane's Addiction goes on for an hour at 6:50 just before Ozzy the headliner, so I figured I would try to get to the venue at 6:30 or so.

Looking further at the schedule however, I noticed that Babymetal is slated to play at 6PM.

I don't know their songs or anything, but may go a little bit earlier just for the comical aspect.

(Yeah yeah, Black Label Society is playing at 3:30, but I figure Zakk will play with Ozzy at the end anyway)

        She's great in that!

Great? She is damn interesting that is for sure. The acting needs some chops but that show is a little over the top. Her look is so great though.

While I believe that Stef is doing well in her AHS role...
I see too much of herself in it.

            So, it really isn't acting.

Which is perfect for that role - playing an eccentric British blueblood baroness who happens to be a vampire. Her quirks add to the allure. But she won't be able to play, let's say... Sandy in Grease.

FYI, there are some rumors of a Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Cover album in the works.
            That'll be interesting.

I would totally check that out. Absolutely great pipes to pull off a great cover album like that. Then again I am one of the two people on earth that like Tori Amos version of Raining Blood, I find it haunting so what the fudge do I know.

I guess I'm the other person, I absolutely adore Tori's version of that. I think it's far more haunting then the original. But I'm kind of a goth at heart.
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

I love Slayer, that Tori version though just nuts. I almost wished she had done Dead Skin Mask in that style though because that riff I think translated and the theme is more haunting imho. I like creative covers. They don't always work i.e. Purple Haze by The Cure but sometimes they do.

So I went to the show and caught the last part of BabyMetal's set. The music wasn't bad, but the fans were freaky. Instead of a mosh pit, they cleared a "dance space" at the front close to the stage, where dudes with glow sticks were dancing in synchronization.

Jane's Addiction kicked ass. Perry still has the pipes and Dave still has his chops.

Ozzy on the other hand was like listening to a horrible karaoke singer with a great backup band. I left as he was butchering Iron Man.

Dave is really a under appreciated guitar player. He is considered more of a celebrity these days but he imho has consistently kept his chops up and really can play. Great phrasing from him. Perry is such a strange cat.

I saw ozzy a couple years ago with sabbath and he was spot on that night. I have seen him awful too. He is so hit or miss

I think Kill Again would have been a better song to pick.

Ozzy has been using a 'back up' singer for many years because he can no longer do it.

Yeah,, but there's no Jackson in that video. We should boycott them or something.
