When i first heard RTLightning and MOPuppets it effected me in a big way. Such an inspiration when just starting out on guitar. Ive seen them about 5 times in the last 7 years and have mostly been dissapointed at the way they play/lack of tightness etc....until Glastonbury 2014 - I havnt watched the playback of that show, but being there, the atmosphere they created at a festival where hard rock/metal is usually frowned upon, was Electric. They rocked the crowd from front to back. I think they were trying to prove somethig and the zest of their previous years shone through in their performance.
Im scared to watch back the footage because i will probably be dissapointed, but for a while on that Sunday evening, after a weekend of hard partying and no sleep, there was some true Metal spirit to wake us all up. People were moving, headbanging and reeling in the energy that can only be created through high calliber thrash and im so glad I got to experience my old favorite band rock a croud like that.
I share most of the opinions above and wish they could reclaim their former glory but boy am I glad that I experienced a glimpse of it at that show.
Another one which was pretty cool was Download festival here in England 2004 - we waited nearly 2 hours for 'tallica to hit the stage, Lars had gone to hospital and the show was nearly cancelled. Well the Slayer drummer (lombardo?) Joey jordison and Lars' tech stood in and the show went on. Apparently that 2 hour wait was them quickly running thorugh some songs with them!! That was pretty cool to see.
I think im gonna listen to Master of Puppets now haha
