    Metallica and AXE-FX II

    Sup?

    YES,,,,,Metallica are using .....    ONLY.....the AXE-FX II units on their south American tour.

    They debuted a new song in Bogota called "The Lords of Summer" which is not bad,,,I've heard worse songs out of them...lol

    They started using them for their Antarctica gig. The guys at Fractal provided assistance with I believe IR captures and tone matches of their regular gear.

        Yeah,, I seen that the other day,, then at 2:10 they kick in with the sound Dig it. sounds good.....till Kirk blows the solo on the live Blackened part.

            I've wondered what is up with Kirk. He was overly emotional and disconnected in that Guitar Center vid. That Blackened solo was just embarrassing. Something is definitely going on his is life emotionally or something. Maybe it's something personal. Maybe he is burnt out on Metallica, yet feels trapped at the same time. Who knows. He's always seemed like a nice guy. Never a super player, but a decent player that fit in Metallica. As a fan, just concerned about him.

              You know Chad you may have a point. If you think back when Jason left, it always seemed to me that Kirk seemed envious that he got to do his own thing. Maybe he wants out too and has for a long, long time?

                Everytime I hear James sing I think does he not have ears anymore? He seriously sounds tone deaf to me. I wish he would go back to yelling instead of trying to "sing". It's getting to the point it's almost painful to listen to. I loved them but now I just can't listen anymore

                    I hate it to, but if I remember correctly he had to change the way he sang because he was shredding his throat. It couldn't take that abuse anymore. As I said, I don't like it either, HOWEVER, it's better than blowing it out completely and they're done, or them using a different singer.

                      This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.

                        Actually every time I have seen Metallica Kirk blows solos, he was probably just high or something, apparently he still smokes a lot of weed according to his own bandmates at Orion Music and More in '12.

                        And James does have some significant hearing loss I've read.

                        Haven't checked out the song yet but I already think the title sucks

                            I really wish they did matter. I loved them but he started this "singing" a long time ago. I saw them on the Monsters of Rock tour with Van Halen, Kingdom Come and Scorpions and he sang nothing like that, saw them on the black album tour and was like wtf is this? There is a time to take vocal coaching or throw the towel in unfortunately. I will always site Master of Puppets as my favorite album of all time with Ride the Lightning and and Justice for All in close seconds, hearing them now feels like they are trying to destroying my childhood
