Yeah, I listened to the "Djinn" album around its release. I think Proscriptor from Absu used to drum for them for a couple of albums..?

Their early stuff was great, haven't listened to much since Epigenesis though.

I think Proscriptor was on Djinn and Sphynx but I could be forgetting one.

Yep, fan here. I like Sphynx in particular, they're a great band. Have some fond memories of driving around some out-of-the-way places in Scotland with that album blasting.

I own the Sphynx album. I had to listen it to remember who they were. Haven't really heard much else.

Are they more death metal now? I thought they were Israeli?

I thought Ashmedi had a signature 12-string Fernandes V... I like Djinn and Sphynx with Proscriptor on drums but i haven't paid much attention to them after that.

@xeno: From what i know, Ashmedi is of Palestinian decent and Melechesh were based in Jerusalem; in their early days they had some issues with the authorities due to the title of their demo ("As Jerusalem Burns...") so they moved to The Netherlands.
