Yeah, the guy that jammed with Martywas a local guy who's a friend of mine named Mikey (B.Lial) Kaufman. He's in a Megadeth and a Metallica Tribute here. His ability makes me not bother to do a cover band here haha. He's a really strong player, and only 31. Nice guy, Marty looked pleasantly surprised he could stand up to him onstage. Nice night.

Yeah, that guy is a great player and totally held his own trading licks with Marty and his other guitarist.

Mikey is a great guy. He's from out in Sandusky ohio, so he isn't around town much other than shows. We became friends because he's a big Criss Oliva fan, and I played a lot of Savatage in my band. I really don't "know" anyone that handles the Marty stuff like he does. He really has that "feel" for it, which is a huge part of it. . He could walk into Metallica and upstage Hammet a thousand percent. They do Metallica better than Metallica. Like machines.

Sean Perry from Antithesis, is in both bands Bill. And he has grown to be a really strong player these days. They are very good at what they do and I have to give them props. Shame when such talent is just doing covers, but I understand. Been there. CLE etc...

Check him out in "the Hour Horsemen" As Kirk,

And in "Meccadeth" (not digging the name so much myself) as Marty.

I'm interested in amazing original players like myself. Sean seems humble/cool when we last met. Krusty called me several times. He's good guy/drummer. Sean/Mike may be on board with extremely, challenging, off the charts stuff. Instrumentals and/or vox. Ty's happy these days w/ girlfriend (sings too). He's on board with anything I do. That's hard-wired. It would be 100% my baby with guests. I'm more sure they'd love it. My son's friend is a monster, 18, and down the street. He reminds me of a young Mark. Looks , attitude wise.

What I do is insane. Makes anything I've done seem vapid. It'll be a shame not to do it. Kinda Bumblfoot/Blotted Science meets aggresive Nevermore/Arch Enemy. Now The best metal guitarist ever is in Arch Enema. I'm the Nostradamus of metal.WTF?

I was on Nevermore/Arch Enemy Bus in '98 cracking 'em up. I'd join either band for the love of them

Sean gave me Four Hormen demo. But I can't stand Metallica, and love 2 Marty/Death albums. I liked Broderick/Drover. Petrelli plays blues. Poland is Holdsworth wannabe..saxophone jazz runs. That I can do..thanks to Vinny/my 80's liking of jazz fusion. Most metal/rock bass players suck IMO.

Yeah, not sure what those guys are about original wise. They only do old Metallica and I like that stuff. I hate the stuff after Ride the Lightning. I know Mikey was doing a power pop thing out in Sandusky. Not thinking he was shredding it up in that. But, ya gotta eat and they played a lot. Sean is definitely a cool guy these days, we get along well. I don't actually talk to Ty past a facebook post or something. I don't really talk to anyone actually, lol..

                      I suck at humble.

Local bands bore me. I had a 'good cover player' in VH band. He learned the songs, and played them ok...sometimes.

Jeff Loomis SMOKES on Jason Becker's 'Perpetual Burn'. W/O a visual point of reference. That's a cover!!!..

12 yr olds cover Metallica/Megadeth. That dude looks confident jammin with Marty. I'd love to. I wouldn't be humble..

Some good players around here, nothing special. It's monkey see..monkey doo. Most of them are so boring...

Sonic Vanilla...great name for a local cover band!!

Yeah pretty much anyone can sound better than Metallica live these days. That guy who plays bass who just wanted a Pepsi is fun to watch but the rest is uninspired. I can't handle the muddy down tuned sounds because James can't sing.

As far as having the Marty feeling that is a special thing. It is tough to have that right sound. Try as I might I can never get his feel down. In time sure, the right notes, yup but does it sound just right? No. He is unique.

Suicidal Tendencies started in 1981. Robert Trujillo didn't join them until 1989, so he's not the one who wanted the Pepsi.
