I am sure Ibanez isn't really concerned. As long as they keep Satch and Vai. Everyone else is meh. I am more amazed that Dave doesn't have a meltdown with all those jacksons around him.I keep the bible in a pool of blood
So that none of its lies can affect me

If Dean bitched I'm sure Dave would say "great, you want my whole band to endorse you exclusively? Let's talk terms."

And, of course, all of those Chinese fakes haven't helped at all.
They had Vai during his best years. He is 55 years old and doesn't make music anymore. He makes spiritual art. Ain't nobody got time for that. They may be better off to dump him - but from a marketing stance, they would need to publicly say they dumped him. None of this amicable 'parting of the ways' or 'going in different directions' crap that companies pull. That way Vai couldn't spin it with "I found a hot little company that blew me away."

I don't know they still sell a lot of the jem's. More than they do of the Satch model. The monkey grip, tree of life and lions claw do aesthetically set it apart from an RG quite a bit. I've seen post market monkey grips and man they are ugly that needs a CNC machine. You are correct that no one is buying a JEM because of what steve is currently doing but the same can be said of the PC1 series.I keep the bible in a pool of blood

my jem is a 2003 i believe...regardless of the aesthetics it is an incredibly well put together instrument...i have quite a few rgs but the neck on the jem has a very different backshape...i like em all but the jem definitely feels different (sounds diff too because its alder not basswood)...so while vai may have helped design it, in the end its still just a well crafted guitar which may account for the continued success...d.m.

The awesome 27 fret Horizon he dropped for a small Brazilian company (home made pride?) Tagima, before getting a modified S series Ibz as his model.
