  • Re visiting Van Halen , All of it.

    Hey guys,
I learned Summer Nights off the 5150 Album and now I can't stop. I'm head over heels deep into Van Halen again.
I grew up with the Records, I had them all. I grew up in the 70's and loved Van Halen. I came from Kiss and the Beatles and Van Halen just took all that to a new level.
It also took me into 80's Metal which I really never left. It's what I am , it's who I be and all that.

fast forward through all the albums and stop at Balance. Listen or re listen to " Don't Tell Me". What a hell of a song. Great Album but this song is incredible. I haven't listened to Balance since it came out all those years ago. Now I'm rock ing it and absolutely loving it.
I'm a Die Hard Van Halen Fan and the new Album Sucks balls. I hate it in al kinds of ways. David Lee Roth sucks on this album and the writing is completely lame. I can't even believe they released that crap. My X Drummer and I where listening to it yesterday and I had to have him turn it off.
I think Sammy Hagar was the best thing to ever happen to Van Halen as the writing got so damn good. I think They work so well together. Sammy took Van Halen to a whole new level.

I love old Van Halen but the Sammy years was just on a different level. Great shit.

I popped in my cassette of Balance not too long ago and managed to listen through once before it broke. I had to run out and buy the CD once I remembered how much I enjoyed it. Always great when you rediscover an old gem.

+1!!! I usually keep this quiet as I get flamed by the Roth followers' army, but my favorite VH is from the Hagar's era*.

I like to play that tapping part of Eruption. Well except when he does that chromatic descending part at the end, I usually give up on that part. But I start off nailing it! Then I put the guitar back in the case. That's enough for today.

The old stuff with Roth is classic, but I've always preferred Hagar's voice.
