I thought Priest was great, but Sabbath won the day in my opinion. They all (including Ozzy) seemed a lot sharper than in 1999 on the Reunion tour when I last saw them. Iommi was on fire--he took the longest solo break in the song "Black Sabbath" that I've ever heard him do. He was absolutely shredding and dead on.

But yeah, Priest definitely delivered--I can't wait to see them do a full set with a new album to promote. Their impact at Ozzfest was a little bit blunted for me because I was back in the lawn section, and the video screens weren't turned on yet during Priest since it was still daylight for most of their set. I could only barely see what was going on down on the stage. I'll spring for better seats next time I see them.

Up in the lawn section, I would say that Slayer was probably the best-received act. The lawn was full of guys that looked like they broke out of juvenile detention to see the show--and Slayer was definitely what they were there to see! [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] The lawn was noticeably more empty for Priest than it had been for Slayer.

Funny, I did not notice any of ZW's roadies trying to get the LP back. They were all wearing black label leather vests so they would have been easy to see. I was right there. The guy ran to security and was waiting on the side so they could escort him out. That was where Firebird V and I got to get a good look at his score.

So the dude who got the guitar had to evacuate the area for fear of getting bludgeoned by fans, roadies, or anyone else who wanted the guitar?! Too funny! Did the guy go home after that? It's cool as hell getting a trophy like that from a show, but you want to be able to see the whole show, right? There was still 5 bands left to see!
BTW, anyone know the dude's number and if he wants to sell it!

That would be my chain of thought too! The guy's lucky to have the guitar in one piece, and himself in one piece too.

If you guys got ZW's guitar, do you see yourself selling it? Personally, it would definetely say hello to Ebay if I got ahold of it. Think about the thousands you'd get off of it! With the money, I'd get a Mesa DR halfstack, a new Jackson or six, and definetely some BC rich guitars. A new studio would be in order, I'd pay off this computer, and hire a prostitute. With the dollar that I had left over from that, I'd buy a coke.

What would you guys do if you got the guitar?

During the Lynch/Yngwie tour in NJ, at the end of his set Lynch placed his guitar into hands of the audience for about a minute, and they respectfully held it up within his reach and he grabbed it back after smiling and nodding his head. I thought that was pretty cool.

I read something in a thread somewhere in the forums on www.zakkwylde.com that stated that security did get the gold bullseye back & that Zakk still has it.
