• Ho-lee SH!T!!!!!!

This will be of interest to us JCF-ers from about 30 on, the young 'uns probably won't have a clue as to who this is... (you can't know what is good now kids if you don't know what was good then)

Anyway, I was listening through a bunch of MP3s on my computer, when Billion Dollar Babies came on. Great classic tune, great guitar players for their time. I know that, unfortunately, Glenn Buxton passed away before his time. But whatever happened to Michael Bruce from Alice's original band? What I got was one hell of shock/surprise. And to think I was blown away to hear about Jake E. Lee...
Just a warning, this site is huge, and will take quite a long time to get through it.
What a waste.
Michael Bruce

Regarding Michael Bruce.....Damn!!! That sh!t fukks you up bad! I did it for a few months when I was younger but I never stole anything and quickly realized, that wasn't what I wanted to do for the rest of my life!

I was wondering what was going on with Jake myself. Have not heard anything. Went over the the Jake website and saw nothing there.

Well, this is sorta turning into a hijacked thread, so here's the post on Jake. It's under the "Charvel USA Guitars" heading:

My freind Cleveland John was and is a big fan of that classic guitar duo ...they had a damn good tone for that time...

The last thing I heard of Jake was a fine pink mist ....nothing after that .....not in my collection anyway.

He's played on a few tribute discs, like the one on Versailles Records for Satch and Vai. He also played on "Little Guitars", too, which was a pretty decent VH tribute. In addition, he did a couple of tracks on Rob Rock's "Rage of Creation" disc. His trademark fast rhythm parts (ala "Bark at the Moon") were present on that one.

I sure hope someone can reach out to Jake and help him.

Meanwhile Alice plays golf and sings in casinos now. I loved that band, it was the only 'real' Cooper band to me. BBB was one of the best albums ever. Generation Landslide...what a tune. They wrote some of the best riffs and parts ever.Randy Rhoads loved those two guys (Buxton and Bruce) as well.

was never a cooper fan, i think i was too young when he was popular. but the drummer in the kiss trib band that i was in was in the michael bruce band. i never talked to him about it b/c the guy was a tool and i did as much as i could to avoid him.

as much as i wish the jake stuff wasn't true, i highly doubt we'll hear much from him again. he's had a lot of bad things go on in his life recently, and he's had some pretty severe demons for most of his life from what i was told. being a hardcore long term tweaker isn't something an intervention is gonna fix. he's basically written family off and is in a hotel in vegas.

Alice Coopers "Killer" is one of my all time favorite albums. It's funny this thread came up because in the last couple of weeks I've been really getting into that album as well as some of the stuff on the greatest hits album again. Definitely some good musicianship going on there.

Regarding Jake, I heard from a reliable source that he's living out of a hotel room in Vegas and not doing too hot. He disappeared some time ago and not even his webmaster knows of his whereabouts, but it's been a few months since I've heard of anything.
