I hate these In Flames rip offs.

their new single is a carbon copy of "The Hive."


They sucked ass at Ozzfest as well. It didn't matter that the guitarist could shred...his poor taste in tone left him completely inaudible through their entire set. The drummer sang the clean portions out of key..the singer is a douche. They suck.


If you're going to rip off melodic death..at least do it with some balls.

yeah, that's better.

Atreyu still sucks. So does, MAgna Fi, Everytime I Die, HAtebreed, slipknot...pretty much every band on the second stage...except Unearth..they were good. Lacuna Coil was dissapointing, they were boring and neither Cristina or that guy singer they got...can sing for **** in a live situation. Dimmu Borgir and Judas Priest owned that entire show. Black Sabbath was a close 3rd. They did well.

I like the lacuna albums and thinks she cute in the pictures ...kinda resembles my wife ...Italian features.. same hair and eyes...I love those laced up shoes she wears ...they make me boing..

Oh I had a used Magna Fi cd for $2.50 in my hands today at my favorite cd shop..but I but the new double Dark Tranquility release instead for $5.00...can't beat that!!

Yes I do not like any of those bands mentioned ...especially due to the vox..

The newer stuff I like close to this genre would be The Black Dahlia murder , all that remains , watch them die , lamb of god , Mastodon (is OK) , The End , Unearth (OK) , Heaven shall burn , Himsa , Byzantine , and this sorta thing ...it's heavy and metal enough for my coolness approval ...

I like the band Killswitch Engage ...they guitars are cool ...but they suffer from that vocal gayness..

as I lay dying same gay vocals ...but they are kind of heavy ..

I think we don't like Emocore (I guess that's what they're callin' it) Drip...that's the happy poppy stuff ....Metalcore is the stuff I can dig....at times

LOG is my fave of this bunch I guess....the new one is pretty decent....with some good solos..

But the hell with all that...The new Enforsaken is pretty cool!

BTW ...The big disappointment for me was Dimmu ...the sound was atrocious...The drums were non existant and so were the guitars ...all I heard was Keys and Shagrath...it was horrible ....DAMN!

I'm glad you heard a good mix ..I heard they sounded bad in other places too

Hey isn't Phil Anselmo a piece of crap and so is that BS band of his Super Crap ritual..THEY SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!

O.K. it's official...Atreyu sucks balls... and I was waaaaay wrong on the shredding remark. Out of the few bands mentioned here my top picks would be LOG, The Black Dahlia Murder, Himsa is cool. I like the music from KSE, but can do without the la la's.

Well to say that they suck is a bit strong come to think of it ...it's just not my cup of Joe..especially that cliche "Bad" vocal style..

at least musically the kids are caring about tone and playing again ...so something "good" came of this stuff...it will progress I assume...Kids want to be good guitarists again!!

To me that's a real good thing...just ditch the whining gayness ..and that would be a step in the right direction ...just don't copy whatever seems to be popular at the moment ..that seems to be always the problem ..then the scene is flooded with a horde of sound alikes..

Be "ORIGINAL" ..it takes a lot of work to be original..I know this!

you know, i like atreyu, they do have a different approach to music style then alot of bands out there. There first and second album are alot different and most people classify them more as screamo and not so much metal. I will not put down any band for going out there and trying to make it, and hey you may flame me but they are playing ozzfest and alot of the people flamming them are not even in there ballpark. As for "afican metal" be thankfull it was on the air waves for awhile, because it completly bought metal back into the spotlight, yeah it got boring and old with many copy cat bands, but look at half the bands today, you can hardley tell them apart now as there are so many copy cats. Anyway time to go put on some avenged sevenfold and forget about all this crap about how a band is gay just because they have emotions.......

Metal never died it just went underground where it belongs...don't need for the likes MTV to dictate that "metal" is "back" or "cool" again..

To me, Atreyu has more punk rock in their sound than any of the other OC bands. I think that's why they're really not as heavy as most of the other stuff.

Boxcar, my point exactly, they are more of a screamo band, and well yes they do have talent and yes i have ears. And as to they ripping off this, or that blah blah blah, Every band out there is influenced by someone or some band and have ripped off that someone or someband in some way, that is such a poor excuse for not liking a band. I really hate when people put down a band because it is not there style of music. Oh and by the way, probaly all those bands that are underground, with the exception of a few wish they were over MTV so they could make some money and stop playing little crappy dives.

probably , They have some "metalcore" elements but I wouldn't put them in the same "genre" as LOG , Himsa , Watch them die , TBDM , Mastodon , and the more "metal" based bands ...

to me thats all At the Gates meets Slayer...which is cool with me!

There is a more radio friendly "pop" with bands such as Avenged Sevenfold , Atreyu and that one video of that band at the roller-skate place thing...whatever band that is....I'm not really a fan of those bands really but it's much more tolerable than what I had to deal with for over the last decade...that was nothing short torture .

I don't really care for that song writing formula or way overdone happy / angry vocal thing...but at least "musically" it seems that these kids wants to play guitar again ...so that's OK really ..their tones seems to be dialed in and they noodle around more since the days of Nirvana...so it can be a much worse an issue to me.

Now only if bands like Linkin' Park would get a clue and just go away...
