The funny thing about atreyu is they are heavy based off 80's metal, and as many of you may not get into the glam metal of the day that probaly explains why you wouldnt like them. I have always been a music whore, i will listen to anything and everything, so i loved all 80's metal, weather it was speed, glam, death etc... You can defintly hear the huge 80's glam metal in there new album, there first album was purley more screamo then anything, this time they are more produced with the curse with more 80's riff's.

I hear the 80's influence on the curse, that's why I actually gave it a good listen. SNBK had absolutely no interest for me. I like the 80's hair stuff, too, it's more the attitude that the scene these guys are in has that bugs me... which may have been true for hair metal in the 80's, but I was only like 5 then so I don't know any better. OK. Atreyu isn't my thing at all. I can live with Corpsepaint is the music is good enough. I actually like COB. Black nail polish and all that sh*t, who really cares. If the tunes are cool, that's what matters. They are all trying to appeal to little Johnny and get his $15 for thier CD, get them to come out to the shows and spend more money.

I agree with all this except for the Black Metal part. Black Metal is gay, but only if you're talking about the ideological "trOO" and "kvlt" crap that plagues the genre. Musically, Black Metal is awesome. Some of my favorite music.

And I like corpse paint to an extent.
